Quinton's POV

The next day, I feel sick from the moment that I wake up, and I have to spend almost an hour sitting next to the toilet.

At least Leif's here, and he makes it a bit easier.

When I'm finally feeling better  Leif helps me go downstairs, and he makes a salad for the both of us, while I go towards the couch.

My parents are here too, and they smirk when they see that I'm struggling to sit on the couch.

I roll my eyes at them, and I decide to not talk to them for that.

So, I wait for my mate to come here, and then we eat our salads in peace, while my parents talk to each other on the other side of the living room.

But we don't get to finish eating, before someone opens the front door, and slams it shut angrily.

All of us stay quiet, while we wait for Reggie to come here.

I really hope that he doesn't know that I told Joseph to make sure that his kids won't be abused.

Joseph promise that he will tell this only to Denver, but I know that there's a chance that Raven might have told Reggie about what we talk about.

But I quickly realise that Reggie didn't know anything, because when he enters the living room, his angry eyes instantly find papa.

"Why did you do it?" Reggie asks him, and papa frowns, before he stands up to make sure that Reggie won't try to attack him.

"What have I done?" Papa asks him, clearly not knowing what Reggie's talking about.

Leif helps me sit up, and I look at Reggie again, hoping that he won't find out that it was me, because I wouldn't want him to be angry at me.

"You told Joseph to make sure that I won't beat my kids again." Reggie says, and papa doesn't say anything, so Reggie continues.

"I know that they have bruises, but they're kids, and they do stupid things, so they will have bruises, but that doesn't mean that I'm abusing them." Reggie tells him, now slightly less angry.

"I didn't tell Joseph anything. I didn't even think about checking if you hit your kids again, which is my fault, because I can see that you're laying right now." Papa says angrily, and Reggie's eyes widen slightly.

He quickly manages to compose himself, but I'm sure that everyone noticed that.

"I'm not hitting them." Reggie tells him desperately.

"I will personally check if any of your kids have any bruises, and if I will find out that you will ever hit any of them again, then I will take them to live here with me.

I thought that it was just a one time thing, and I forgave you for that, but from now on, I will keep a close eye on the way that you treat your kids." Papa tells him, and Reggie just huffs, before he walks out it the house.
