Lilith...

I

could hardly focus on my work today. The semester was nearing its end and Scott and I still had to put the final touches on our Poetry group assignment. I lean back on my chair, looking around my books and paper covered office. I had work to do but I couldn’t stop thinking about Void. He was at his vocal therapy session right now and I was all alone with these very promiscuous thoughts of him. He got into trouble with his vocal coach last time for…overusing his voice, so I’ve been ducking his advancements for a while now. But I don’t think I can function without him much longer. What was wrong with me? Was I some sort of rabbit in heat? I shake my head, that’s definitely something he would call me.

The sound of the apartment’s bell rang off. I got up, taking the hand gun I kept in the drawer with me. I had no guests coming and Void would never ring the doorbell. I looked at the screen displaying the view of the front door. I sighed when I saw who it was, I tucked the gun under my hoodie.

“Scott, I told you to tell me when you’re coming,” I said as I opened the door.

“I did. You even replied to my text double checking if we were still on for tonight,” he walked in and frowned. Crap, Scott had a performance at a bar tonight and I was supposed to introduce him to Void. Scott had only seen him when he was unconscious in a hospital bed.

“I’m sorry, I’ll get ready, it slipped my mind,” I said.

Scott tilted his head curiously. What was he looking at? He stepped closer to me and eyed me with furrowed bushy brows. His eyes twinkled when something registered.

“You’re sex- deprived,” he said with a smirk.

“What? No- I- I’m not,” I stuttered.  How on earth could he tell?

“Yeah you are, you’re so cute,” he laughed. I hid my face in my hands. Gosh, this is so embarrassing.

“Glad to know you think my girlfriend is cute,” we heard from by the front door.

Void stood with his arms folded and an angry look on his face.

“Void, no using your voice,” I frowned. He didn’t spare me a glance. He kept his eyes on Scott who stood with his usual cheeky smirk. “Void, this is Scott, my friend I told you about,” I said. Scott snickered and I nudged his side. What was he giggling about? Void walked over to Scott. Why did he look so scary? He huffed and his shoulders relaxed and a light smile showed up on his features.

“Nice to finally meet you Scott. Lilith told me how much you looked after her while I was down. Thank you,” he said. Scott laughed and accepted his hand.

“Its all good, she’s a friend, a good one,” he replied. What was this cheeky white boy up too? The last time I saw him laugh that much he stole my cupcakes.

I parted their clenched hands and hugged Void tightly while glaring at Scott. I love him but the blue eyed sneaker had to be watched.

“Oh come on, I stole one cupcake and now you think I’m gonna steal your boyfriend,” he pouted.

“You steal all my favorite snacks, who’s to say you won’t steal him too,” I stuck my tongue out at him.

“I don’t even swing that way. My looks are too good to be made available to men,” he sassed. Void’s chest rumbled, he was stifling a laugh. Scott laughed while clenching his stomach.

“Alright, before the weaponized munchkin in thigh highs kills me, I’ll head to the bar first. It’s not for another two hours anyway so that gives you enough time to get ready. I’ll see you two in a bit,” Scott waved as he walked to the front door.
