Friends

"Hmm, really?", I asked.

"You're quiet, and your sisters are loud."

Natawa ako sa sinabi niya.

Pano nalang kung naging maingay ako? Does that mean he would think of me as one of my sisters? Tss.

"So does that mean, if I became talkative, you'll think of me as either Dennise or Demser?"

"Nope.."

"Then what?", I asked, now interested.

"I just know how to differentiate you from them.", He said and smiled.

I raised a brow.

"Trust me", he said and winked at me.

tf.

I just shaked my head and he chuckled.

I went back to reading, never minding him. There was silence.. I don't know if it was an awkward one or something else but it's uncomfortable. I kept on reading and reading but I can't understand a thing.

I looked at him and I saw him already looking at me.

"What", I said, looking bored.

He shook his head and looked the other way. What tf is his problem?

Napabuntong-hininga ako.

"How are you friends with my cousins again?", I asked.

"My mom and his mom are best friends, and our family usually hangs out a lot. We sometimes see each other in some occasions."

Napatango naman ako..

"Last time I went here, you're not this big.", dagdag pa niya.

"Excuse me?", I felt offended by the word he used, 'big'.

"I mean, all grown up.."

"Yeah? And so?"

"Nothing, I'm just surprised."

"You probably saw one of my sisters before. I'm usually just in my room.", I said and continued reading.

"I know.", he said.

I looked at him and saw that he was looking at the sky full of stars.

"You like stars?", I asked.

He then looked at me and nodded. "It makes me calm whenever I see stars because it reminds me of every little light that shines in a very dark surrounding."

Wow, I didn't know he see the stars this way..

Why do I feel like there's another meaning behind those words?

Like in every darkness, there will always be opportunities and safe spots where you can rest and feel at peace. The glimmering little light that shines.

"You probably like the cities better because of it."

"My heart belongs to the city.", he said and smiled at me.

I stared at him blankly though. But I then realized something..

"Uhuh, maybe that's why you like city girls better, eh?"

His forehead ceased, giving me a questioning look.

"Parties, club, drinks, hook-ups, and lot of sexy stuffs-"

"What the hell? How do you know those things?"

I just shrugged.

"So you think of me that way?"
