Y/N's POV

I can't believe it. Everything that Jasmine told me.. It's too much.

I was born in a lab with six other girls. Apparently we were very close back then, like sisters. But the fucked up thing is the fact that some doctors from earth were experimenting on us. The girls remember everything, but I don't.

"How come I don't remember anything?" I ask them.

"That's the part that I don't understand" Jasmine starts. "But what I think is that most of the experiments they did on you didn't work out the way they wanted. So maybe that's why they made you forget about the place. I mean, those people did fucked up things, so why not erase memories? Maybe after that they left you somewhere far away from the lab"

"That makes sense, I think" Neteyam comes in. "I mean, you told us that Ronal and Tonowari found you when you were a baby"

I nod. "Now I get why they couldn't give me any answers about my past, they really didn't know anything.."

It's silent. I think we've been sitting here around the fire for atleast two hours. The girls explained every single thing they can remember. Elle even cried, she said that it's really traumatic what they've experienced. And from their story's.. Well, let's just say that I am lucky that I can't remember anything.

"I'm having a thought" Danique says. "Have you ever met humans?"

I nod. "Not a lot, but I've met a few"

"And how did you react to them?"

Neteyam laughs. "Well, the last time she heared that there were sky people in the forest, she immediately ran into it with no back-up and killed one of them"

"Yeah, well.. They were a threat so I had to.." I respond.

"But that's it!" Danique says.

We all look at her confused.

"What do you mean, sis?" Sabine asks.

"Well, the fact that she immediately saw the humans as a threat, means that she's got some sort of aversion against them. You can't explain why you attacked them without thinking first, right?"

"Right.." I say, not getting where she's going with this.

"So that means your body remembered!"

What?

"Oh wow.." Nea starts. "Muscle memory"

Danique claps her hands, as if she figured it out. "You've experienced a trauma, like us. Maybe your normal memory forgot, but your muscle memory didn't!"

"I mean, that makes sense. But where are you going with this?" I ask her.

"Maybe we can get your memories back if we take you back to that time"

"Danique, I don't think that's a good idea.." Natasha says. "We got out of that place, wanting to never go back there. And now you wanna return?"

"I'm with Natasha" Nea says.

I look at them. "I mean, I want to remember. But only because I feel like a part of me is missing. And I've always felt that way, but now I know that that missing part is much bigger then I ever would've expected"

They all nod.

"It's up to you. If you wanna go, we go. If you don't, then we just stay here" Jasmine says.

I think about it for a second. Do I really wanna do this? Do I really wanna go back to that traumatic place? How much is my memory and my past worth it?
