Chapter 1.1

[Kaveh's PoV]

"Ah, Kaveh, the Grand Sage has requested your presence in the main office of Akademiya"

It's Monday today and I just felt like going to Akademiya to offer help with some things to lessen their workloads. Coincidentally, everyone is so busy today and they were running out of manpower to manage the applicants' letter

It was also a good decision to come here so I would keep myself busy and not to think too much about what happened last night

I turned around at my colleague who's helping as well with me "Hm? Did they tell you for what reason?" I asked while arranging the papers we've collected from freshmen scholars

It's unusual for the Grand Sage to be calling out someone personally to come into his office unless it's really an important matter

"I heard The Doctor and Grand Sage have joined hands in a certain project and they were looking for herbad scholars to work directly under them. The rewards surely are extraordinary, the other information is confidential to the selected persons only so I don't know the other details"

I stopped what I am doing and fully pays attention to him, "The Doctor? Who is that?"

"Huh? You've never heard of him?" he also stopped what he's been doing and look up at me as if I asked a stupid question

"No? Is he famous or something like that?" I answered innocently

"He's not like a celebrity though he gained some popularity from scholars as well as to civilians due to his far greater knowledge in the field of medicine. It was rumored that he can make a cure to any disease and can make anything perceived as impossible into possible with the help of science blah blah" he started talking in a cheerful way like he admired that person for a long time

"If he is that great then why would he even need to be associated with the Grand Sage? Don't you have any idea what's the project they aiming to accomplish?" I asked out of curiosity "And what's a great doctor himself seeking help for an Architect like myself?" I added

"I told you earlier that the details of the said project were confidential to the selected persons only. If you wanted to know, then go directly to the Grand Sage's office. You were lucky that you have been chosen especially since you've graduated with high prestige from the Kshahrewar Darshan, one of the main schools here in Sumeru Akademiya so don't miss out on the opportunity!"

"Yeah, yeah... I get it. Stop shouting like a kid, damn. I'll still think about it-" I turned back at him to continue what I stopped earlier

"What do you mean, think about it?! Go there already or you'll missed them. It's not often that The Doctor will show up in person here!" it caught me off guard when he suddenly grabbed the papers I was holding and then push me out of the door

"Hey, hey! I get it, I'll go there so stop pushing!" I yelled as a sign of giving up. There's no loss if I get the chance to meet him in person

I was kinda curious anyway.

What was The Doctor seems like? I just hope he's a good person.

I walked towards the direction of the hallway leading up to the main office of Akademiya

"Don't forget to update me afterward! Good luck!" he shouted in the distance while waving his hands at me

He seems to be more excited than me. I just rolled my eyes at him.

It may not look like it but Sumeru isn't as lively as how tourists expect this country to be. There are a lot of dark sides that were kept hidden in the civilians. Even though it is unfair to be hiding things from them, it is also the reason why they were able to live a carefree life in Sumeru

On the other hand, some scholars who seek knowledge of the truth behind, can't just keep living going on the flow as to what may happen. I know that there is something fishy about this project and I'm not participating just because I've been chosen as a great scholar but instead, because of the rewards that they'll grant me. I know I needed money to pay my dept but I'm pretty sure it's not just some mora or jewelry, Akademiya knows the definition of rewards more than that

I heard recently that some scholars have possessed the Divine Capsule and were using it to abuse its power. Although, Divine Capsules undeniably grants you the knowledge that you seek, it has a lot of side effects that you shouldn't risk your life for

I also read some files on Alhaitham's desk that some scholars have gone insane, lost their memory, and attacks people due to the side effects of Divine Capsule. This issue has been kept to public and was currently been investigating by Alhaitham

Given that the situation is involving scholars, I'm pretty sure that the Grand Sage has known about it but I wonder why Alhaitham is the only one doing the investigation? It's either the Grand Sage himself is putting a blind eye to this issue or he is involved behind it. Im guessing as well that the project he discussed with The Doctor must have something to do with this

I can't wait to find out what's going on. I'll divert my mind to this project in the meanwhile until he comes back...
