Chapter 3.1

[Kaveh's PoV]

We're both quietly walking in the dark hallway ahead of us.

I thought the room wouldn't be far from where we were but we've been walking for a few minutes now

"Can I ask you something?" he first breaks in the silence

"What if I said no?"

"I'll ask either way"

I whispered "Jerk" and just let him be

"Do you happen to know a man named Tighnari?"

I wasn't expecting a question like this.

My heart started beating fast.

How come he knew Tighnari? Don't tell me he even held Tighnari as a hostage

"Who?" I pretended to not know. It's better to play safe

"Amurta scholar from Akademiya but refuses to work with them and chooses to just be a Forest Watcher after graduating. What an interesting man..."

He didn't care much if I knew him or not. I just let him continuously blabber

"He's just like you in some way, you know?"

"What do you mean?" he stopped for a second. I almost bump into his back. Fortunately, he continued walking immediately afterward

"An architect who designed the Palace of Alcazarzaray but now renting on someone else's house. Haha... What an interesting people indeed..."

How did he know about that? Only a few people knew that I am living with someone else... Wait, does he know Alhaitham as well?

"Do you know Haypasia?"

I was expecting he'll ask about Alhaitham next. It's a relief that it's not about him

"The name sounds familiar..." I replied honestly

I'm pretty sure it's gotta be one of the scholars. I also think I've heard this name elsewhere

Why do I keep forgetting the people themselves and just remembering only their names? Damn

"Well, you see... Tighnari is taking care of that woman in Pardis Dhyai at the moment. Haypasia successfully attempted at connecting to Irminsul using Spirit Borneol after only three years of training"

"And then? This story doesn't seem to be interesting to me" I honestly don't care what that scholar is attempting to do "I have no time for your chit-chats. Can we just go to where you held the hostages?"

I have to focus on this matter at the moment.

"Haha... you sure are impatient. Well, I've already told you that we're planning to create a god-"

I cut him off "Yeah and that's nonsense shit"

"The god I am experimenting on is The Balladeer. Have you heard of him?"

"No, doesn't seem to interest me either" He seems proud to announce that he's experimenting someone, not to mention the fact that that person is from his own group

What a psycho.

"I am quite amused seeing that you don't know a lot about these things even though you're well affiliated with known people across Sumeru"

What did he mean affiliated with known people? Does he know about my friends, as well?

"I just don't want to know the things I don't have a need for" I just answered to play safe
