—First Person POV.—

After I had calmed myself and managed to get rid of the red along my features, I made my way over to the fire to collect my plate.

Plopping down on the grass near the fire, my stomach cried out to me with a short grumble as the scent of the cooked meat continued to flicker over my deprived senses.

And without a second to spare, I indulged in the food—easily plucking one of the pieces from the pile and tossing it into my mouth to chew.

As I was busy savoring my meal, a familiar head of red took a seat beside me and with a short glance over—Kirishima offers me a sheepish grin, his jaws filled to the brim with sharp teeth and slight remnants of rabbit meat.

We both proceed to return our individual attention to our food and continue to dig in.

As if by ritual, though, Kirishima had managed to strike up a conversation—causing the next time I speak to be filled with haste chewing and gulping beforehand so I could reply.

Despite the incident earlier—the Dragon didn't seem to be wanting to talk about it, just as much as I did. And I was thankful for that.

As I toss another slice of the delicious meat into my mouth, my head is turned in his direction—my jaws happily chewing before swallowing the savory piece..

"So, about earlier.." Kirishima starts and I immediately hack as the surprise causes my food to pause its descent down my throat.

It takes the Dragon not too long to realize that I was choking and in the next second—a hand smacks my back, swiftly saving me from death but leaving my body to go through a coughing fit for a few seconds.

"Are you okay??" He hurriedly questions as I reach a hand up to idly wave him off in a dismissive manner and then wipe away the excess tears that had gathered in the corners of my eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, sorry— That just caught me off guard, that's all." I quickly brush off with a light tinge of red-embarrassment now dancing along my features.

"Sorry," Kirishima manages to chuckle as he leans back into the seated position he had been in beforehand—my eyes subconsciously watching as his large wings now spread out along the grass behind his form in a relaxed manner.

And after a short pause, I turn my attention away and clear my throat gently "I only saw you staring for a little bit before you noticed me," I explain sheepishly while idly picking at my food.

"Right, I figured." From the corner of my eye, the Dragon sweat drops in embarrassment and his hand raises to rub at the back of his neck.

"Care to tell me why?" I wonder, tilting my head to fully catch his crimson gaze in mine as I smiled "I mean, it's the least you could do— Seeing as you almost killed me just now." I playfully push and he lets out a groan.

"I said I was sorry," Kirishima drawls and a laugh breaks through my smile "My claim still stands," I comment, causing those crimson eyes to roll and avert away in embarrassment.

"I just," He starts but pauses as his expression slowly contorts to one full of thought "Bakugo is..." The Dragon's voice falls silent once more while he internally searched for the word.

"—Pretty, right?" I answer for him, my eyes cast downwards before I let out a nervous chuckle towards the way Kirishima glances at me.

So, now it was my turn to be embarrassed with myself.

"Yeah, I was actually staring too before I turned and caught you." I hear myself continue without much thought and I offer an awkward shrug to the redhead.
