As they both stepped out of Chuuya's apartment, a solemn silence hung between them, unbroken by any further conversation. Dazai's new place happened to be conveniently located right across from Chuuya's, making the short walk to his own apartment more of a mere formality. The hallway they walked through was wider than the average residential building's, a deliberate design to accommodate the presence of the Mafia within the complex.

The door to Dazai's new apartment loomed ahead, and he fished out the key from his pocket and unlocked the door. Dazai pressed firmly on the door handle and swung the door open, stepping into the unfamiliar territory that was now his home. Chuuya followed closely behind, discreetly observing Dazai's demeanor. He noticed how Dazai's shoulders were slightly tense, a telltale sign that something was bothering him.

Once inside, Dazai closed the door behind them, the subtle click of the lock echoing in the empty room. He turned to face Chuuya, who was standing a few steps away, giving him some space.

Out of the corner of his eye, Dazai caught a glimpse of his new dining room, but he promptly shifted his focus back to Chuuya. "I think we should take a look around first, just to be sure there aren't any hidden security cameras in here." Dazai suggested in a hushed tone. Chuuya furrowed his brow momentarily, a flicker of concern crossing his face, but he ultimately remained silent. He knew Dazai well enough to trust his instincts on matters like these.

With their unspoken agreement, Dazai and Chuuya began their sweep of the apartment, methodically checking each room and searching for any signs of surveillance devices. Dazai was meticulous, examining every nook and cranny, places Chuuya wouldn't even think to check, while Chuuya occasionally pointed out potential blind spots and areas that might be susceptible to hidden cameras, or any kind of device that can be used for spying.

Chuuya leaned against the door frame, observing Dazai's thoroughness and the intensity in his eyes. "You really think there could be hidden cameras here?" Chuuya finally spoke, breaking the silence. Dazai nodded without saying anything while checking in the back of the kitchen drawers.

Something had happened. Chuuya knew Dazai had to speak with Mori about the events from the night before. However, after that, he didn't hear anything from Dazai all day. Chuuya cursed him at work because of his absence. Things were rough without Dazai's brilliant mind, and Chuuya's exhaustion and lack of concentration due to his sleepless night made everything even worse.

As Chuuya delved further into the mysterious situation surrounding Dazai's absence, he couldn't help but feel concerned. He asked Kouyou about Dazai's whereabouts and well-being, hoping to glean some insights into his troubling behavior. Kouyou, with her usual poise and calm, informed him that Dazai had been visibly distressed all day. The news left Chuuya feeling a mixture of worry and curiosity, but he knew better than to question Dazai's actions and precautions in that moment. Dazai, after all, had a knack for getting involved in complicated situations and harboring secrets that not even Chuuya could easily fathom.

As they continued to search the apartment for any hidden devices, Chuuya's mind wandered back to the day he had moved in. Dazai's new apartment had been unoccupied for as long as he could remember. The atmosphere inside the apartment seemed tense, as if the walls themselves held secrets.

There was no way the Organization would move so fast to install security. Chuuya had just managed to secure the apartment for Dazai on that very day.

After a few minutes, Dazai plopped down on the couch in the living room with a sigh, followed by Chuuya, who took a seat on a small chair in the connected kitchen.

"You won't believe what Mori just blurted out today." Dazai was the first to talk, his voice more relaxed and louder this time, no longer whispering.

"What the hell happened that was so bad you had to check the entire apartment? It's a new one, there's no way someone could have put any kind of security in here," Chuuya seemed annoyed with his partner's behavior from the last 30 minutes. He was tired and fed up with everything that had to do with Dazai's little mind games.
