Chaeng lied on her bed, her mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming meeting with Jungkook in the garden. Eun, ever watchful, refused to let her leave the room, insisting she needed rest to recover fully from the incident with the moonlight water.

"But Eun, I like going there," Chaeng whined, trying to convince her friend.

Eun shook her head firmly. "No, Chaeng. You need to rest."

Chaeng sighed in frustration, knowing there was no use arguing with Eun when she was in this mood. She decided to pretend to sleep and wait for the right moment to slip away.

After what felt like an eternity, Chaeng turned around and saw Eun peacefully snoring. It was now 2:46 am, much later than their usual meeting time. She knew she had to be careful not to wake Eun as she made her escape.

Lighting a candle for guidance, she ventured out of the room and into the dark, empty hallways. The only sound was the soft padding of Harley's cat, who roamed freely during the night.

When she reached the garden, she saw Jungkook waiting for her. He smirked as she approached, teasingly remarking, "I almost thought you must have fallen asleep."

Chaeng rolled her eyes, not in the mood for playful banter. "Yeah, right. Let's just get this over with."

Jungkook's smirk only widened, seemingly undeterred by her lack of enthusiasm. As Chaeng drew nearer, she couldn't help but notice the way the moonlight played across his features, accentuating his sharp jawline and tousled hair. Despite her irritation, she couldn't deny the undeniable magnetism that seemed to radiate from him.

However, Jungkook's amusement quickly faded as his gaze flickered over her slightly red and swollen eyes. Concern etched his features, and he asked in a genuinely worried tone, "What happened to your eyes? Did you catch an infection or something?"

"It's because of your crazy fangirls!" Chaeng's frustration seeped into her voice as she recounted the incident, her eyes narrowing in irritation.

Jungkook's eyebrows shot up in surprise, his usual confident demeanor momentarily faltering. "My fangirls? What do they have to do with this?"

Rolling her eyes, Chaeng recounted the ordeal with a mix of irritation and exasperation. "One of your fangirls splashed moonlight water on me, and it stung my eyes. That crazy ass, Song Yoojin! She did it on purpose, and it's all because of you!"

As Chaeng spoke, Jungkook's expression grew progressively darker, his jaw clenching in obvious anger. He listened intently, his gaze never leaving her face, and when she finished, his voice was laced with a quiet intensity. "That's fucked up. I'll deal with Yoojin."

Despite herself, Chaeng found herself appreciating his determination to take action. It was a side of Jungkook she hadn't seen before, a side that hinted at a depth beyond his usual playful façade. Her initial annoyance began to soften, replaced by a grudging respect for his response.

"Thanks," Chaeng finally muttered, surprised at how genuine her gratitude sounded.

Jungkook nodded, his eyes holding a mix of seriousness and something else that Chaeng couldn't quite decipher. "You should also make sure to do frequent check-ups in the healing ward. Eyes are nothing to mess around with."

Chaeng met his gaze, slightly taken aback by his unexpected concern. "I will," she replied, her voice tinged with a mix of surprise and appreciation.

For a moment, they stood there in silence, the tension between them palpable. Chaeng was about to say something when Jungkook spoke up, his tone serious.

"Chaeng, promise me something. Don't ever go near Yoojin again. She's not someone you want to associate with."

"Why? What's the matter with her?" Chaeng asked, curious about his sudden concern.

"It's complicated, and I don't want you getting involved with her. Just trust me on this," Jungkook replied, his eyes locking with hers.

But Chaeng was not satisfied with his vague response. Frustration and curiosity boiled inside her, and she couldn't hold back any longer. She started hitting his chest, demanding answers, "No! I won't just trust you without knowing why! Tell me what's going on!"

In an attempt to quiet her down, Jungkook pulled her closer by her waist, surprising Chaeng. Before she could react, he pressed his lips against hers, effectively silencing her protests.

Time seemed to stand still as their lips met, a rush of sensations flooding Chaeng's senses. She could feel the warmth of his lips against hers, the way his hand held her firmly. It was a kiss that held both urgency and uncertainty, a silent plea that left her breathless.

But as quickly as the kiss had started, it ended. Jungkook pulled away, his eyes holding a mix of guilt and something she couldn't quite decipher. "Sorry, I just...wanted you to stop hitting me."

Chaeng's heart raced, her mind a whirlwind of emotions. Her lips tingled from the touch of his, her fingers instinctively rising to brush against them. She watched as Jungkook chuckled softly, his expression a mix of amusement and something deeper.

She huffed, still trying to process what just happened. "Is that how you ask random people to shut up?"

Jungkook chuckled softly, his deep laughter carrying a hint of self-amusement as he ran a hand through his hair. "No, I guess not," he mused, his gaze briefly dropping to the ground before returning to meet hers. "Look, it's late. You should just go to sleep."

Before Chaeng could muster a response, Jungkook turned on his heel and began to walk away, his figure disappearing into the shadows of the garden. Her mind was still reeling from the unexpected turn of events, her heart pounding in her chest as the echoes of their shared moment resonated within her.

Chaeng's fingers instinctively brushed against her lips, her touch seeking to prolong the memory of his kiss. Her mind raced, trying to make sense of what had just transpired between them.

"What was that?" she murmured to herself, her voice barely audible in the stillness of the night. Her gaze remained fixed on the spot where Jungkook had stood, a mixture of uncertainty and desire coursing through her veins.

As the moon cast its soft glow over the garden, Chaeng found herself caught in a whirlpool of thoughts and feelings. The memory of their lips meeting lingered, igniting a spark within her that refused to be extinguished.
