The storm had finally stopped and the sun hidden behind the clouds rose. The two we're still sleeping in the house they've found last night. Gene was the first to wake up. He got out of Alex's grasp and got up slowly. His leg was still hurting but it was bearable. He looked out the window and saw everything has calmed down. He got his coat and got outside, a little bit of fresh cold air wouldn't kill anyone. Gene took a deep breath and thought what he'll do when the girls will see Alex like this. Well ever since they left Kingsland, Alex was more...calm. That bought Gene some peace of mind. He looked in the forest ahead and saw a faint blue light, he knew that glow, must be one of those heart trees he encountered when he got out. He made his way towards the light, he walked a bit before seeing the tree, the same tree he has destroyed once. Sadly he has nothing strong enough to destroy it,which was a bummer.
I didn't took long for Alex to wake up too, when he looked around and saw Gene was nowhere panic started to pile up. He got out and looked left and right.
"Gene where are you?!' Alex yelled hoping for a response, and he got his response. He followed Gene's voice until he stumbled across the tree with Gene examinating it. Alex was reliefed to see Gene is well. He went next to him and looked at him
"What is this?"
"One of the sources of the curse.. I don't have with what to destroy it. If i get close it will attack me" Gene said.
Alex looked around
"Can't I just smash it with a rock or something?"
"..i dunno" Gene replied "i had a laser on me that im pretty sure i lost when you captured me" Gene said
Alex looked around and found a pretty decent sized rock, he picked it up and aimed at the tree, he threw it only for the rock to bounce of almost hitting Alex back
"Son of a.." he said. Gene laughed at that.
"It isn't funny!" Alex said
"Pfft sorry princey didn't know I touched a nerve there" Gene said
They sat an looked at the tree again before they both heard a laugh, they turned around to see one of the fairies laughing, looking at them. They questioned her behavior a bit before she aimed her wand at them.
"Oh shit!" Alex said as he and Gene doged the spell as it hits right in the tree's heart. Smashing it. The area around the tree felt less cold. Alex sneaked behind the fairy, holding her down
"Take her wand Gene!" Alex said, Gene went and grabbed her wand quickly
"Now the hell you want me to do with this?" Gene asked
"Break it!" Alex replied
Gene snapped the wand in two, weakening the fairy, passing out, Alex let go of her and went to Gene
"Seems like she destroyed that tree"
"That's good, another tree down" He said.
"Stay here, ill go grab my stuff and we'll head toward the camp" Alex said as he went and took his stuff. And they started to head back in the forest towards the camp, they walked some time before Gene went ahead and gently tapped the invisible dome, allowing them inside
"RUBY HE'S BACK!" Twinkle yelled altering her pirate friend who came to see. She stopped when she saw Alex next to Gene.
"Is he?..." Ruby asked
"Yes he's peaceful" Gene replied
"Does he remeber you?" Twinkle asked
"Now he does" Gene replied. Alex sat besides him in silence watching the three talk.
"Well it's good to see him" Ruby said
Gene looked at Alex "want to stay?"
Alex nodded as he guided him to the tent so they could rest properly.
