SHE SHIVERED, STARING AHEAD AT THE blank wall in front of her. She had been in this prison cell too long. It had been years. She needed an escape, despite her predicament.
Jaq bit her lip as she watched people walk past her window, some curiously looking into her small prison.
She sighed, it was for Bucky.
They knew Jaq was Bucky's light. She had helped him through the hell they put them in. He wouldn't survive outside in 21st century New York without her, but he was out there, alone. He had finally gotten his freedom.
He needed her, just like she needed him. She knew that she couldn't be here forever and especially knew that Bucky made her a better person.
Made her feel human again— like she wasn't a killer.
Jaq realised that she was leverage to regain the secret weapon for HYDRA.
They wanted Bucky Barnes to continue being the Winter Soldier whether or not he liked it.
