Mattholomule stared at the ceiling while humming a soft tune he heard somewhere. "Tomorrow." He half groans while rubbing his eyes, making a small yellow circle over his head to create light Matt took a book that rested on his nightstand. "Might as well get some reading done." The brunette half murmurs while opening the book and reading, you see Tomorrow was Sunday and Matt would have to have a whole day with Augustus. He didn't mind but with how Amara put things he was getting nervous. Mostly over nothing.
'Construction 102' Mattholomule read over the book and opened it, to the page he was in before taking in the words. Time flew by quickly and by the time he finished the book the sun crept in. "Urgh! This will be a nightmare." Huffed the boy but he shrugged, he spends days without sleep, so he was fine yet... he was still a bit nervous. Taking the longest cold shower, he had forever. While going as slowly as possible brushing his teeth, and hair, fixing his clothes, and finally making his breakfast he just stared absent-mindedly all the time.
Opening his scroll and just -wait for it- scroll down its content. -Get it! Hahahaha! No? Okay bye- He stopped when a picture of Augustus popped up with his friends. Groaning Matt stared at the picture and how happy Gus looked. "Urgh." The boy rubbed his temple while making his scroll poof out of existence. Cleaning the mess, he made and quickly adding a small, scented rock in the living room Matt took his keys and walked out of the house. It was already nine, so he took small and slow steps. Wanting to go slower but failing each time.
Arriving at the graveyard Matt stares at the empty place, chuckling the clock again, "Nine twenty." Mattholomule shrugged and huffed before walking around the graveyard, "Oh!" The old man smiled brightly while opening his arms and tuning to Mattholomule. "Mr. Tholomule. I'm so happy you came." The keeper smiled and clapped his hands. Matt hums again and sits down next to a statue. His classes weren't going well, illusion and construction as well. But it didn't matter, all his parents would do was yell at him to do better, his mother would look tired and disappointed, and his father irritated and frustrated. Too tired to even remember their faces Mattholomule closed his eyes crossed his arms and with a sigh tried to take a small nap.
"Mattholomule you came!" Augustus waved while jogging to the boy. Matt didn't open his eyes while humming a response, "Yes I am. Why wouldn't I?" Matt didn't open his eyes yet, but he knew Augustus was nervous. "Yeah. Anyway! What type of traps do you have planned? I have a few. Luz and Willow told me a few ideas-" Mattholomule opened his eyes looking up at him while waiting a few seconds for the boy to finish he just stared at the said boy.
"We should start fixing around. As you could tell. These are falling apart." Matt patted slightly over the statue and a few rocks fell making Augustus stiffen and pull the boy up. "Look out!" Shouted the taller boy while seeing a bigger rock fall near where Mattholomule was sitting. "Oh! You're here as well! Welcome back, Mr. Porter." The old man broke the startled young witches. Augustus still holding Mattholomule by the shoulder and wrist. "Are you here to build up the defenses?" The old man cheered happily while Matt took a step forward, Matt huffed his heart beating hard in his chest while walking towards the old man. The taller boy just pulled the shorter boy back a hand on his wrist and upper hip. "We are! Matty almost got hurt!"
He didn't know why where Augustus pulled still were warm and his heart still beating fast. Maybe it was the rush of being yanked and saved while also half-protected by the younger boy. Again. Yeah, that's it. "We can't do that yet. We have to fix this place." The old man stared at Mattholomule and tilted his head confused. "Why would you say that?" Matt glares at the old man but groans and shakes his head. "He almost got badly wounded! Are you blind?" Shouted Augustus half worried half angry at the old man that didn't seem to care much, in his defense he never had visitors in a long... long time.
"Matty. Are you okay?" Augustus sigh looking at Matt trying to forget what happened quickly. "You should have been taking better care of this place!" Matt half groans feeling odd when the taller boy worried about him, "I can help with the statues, but I'm not sure if it will be THAT good." Augustus shook his head patting Matt back, "Nonsense! You're amazing with construction, I know you can do this." Augustus smiled brighter, letting go of the shorter boy not daring to even look away from one another, the older man cleared his throat and nodded, "I'll see if I can find something to make them stick together longer. To-doloo!"
Mattholomule may have been older than the boy for two years but still, the boy just protected him as if they were friends. 'Friends... Right-' "We need a few ideas on how to build defenses. The faster we do it. The faster I can go home and shower." Matt spoke up before waving his hand and walking away.
After long hours Matt sighed exhausted, he plopped on the floor and stared at the sky. "Matty? Are you okay? We haven't even finished our fifth trap." Matt groans slightly, tired and growing hungry he crosses his eyes. "Don't call me Matty August. Plus, I'm tired I'll take a nap." Mattholomule turns around and closes his eyes. His mind slowly bubbled up with everything that JUSt happened and around him. In his class, he will probably fail the test he has in a few days. He also wants to resign from the human appreciation society mostly because he does not know what to do, leader or otherwise. It's no more fun without Augustus plus he now has another class added to the list and has to practice Illusions which at the moment he failed miserably. A bonus for his parents thinks he won't make it and thinks he should resign about that H.A.S thing.
"Hey, Augustus." The taller boy stops and stares at the one lying down. "Yes?" Matt didn't open his eyes while he spoke. "How do you do it?" Augustus tilts his head, but Matt doesn't know, yet he has a feeling. "What do you mean?" Matt shrugs and sits up resting his back over the tree. "Illusions." Augustus's eyes perked up before he smiled and sat down next to the older boy while staring at the sky and leaves of the trees. "Well. How do I put this? Hum. It's like re-creating a memory. Or a drawing?" Augustus could tell Mattholomule didn't understand. "Well, it's hard to explain." Augustus smiled brightly when an idea came over him. Making a small circle he made a lot of minis of himself and ran around in front of them.
Then he transforms them into flowers on the ground. "I see." Matt frowns and tries to make a circle but the circle pops out of existence halfway. Groaning I'm frustrated Matt tried again and again and again. Augustus shook his head and stopped Matt's movements holding his wrist again. "You have to visualize and know what you want to create. Look at me." Augustus smiled moving his hand to make a small circle and a couple of small illusion vines were created. Mattholomule frowns and tries to do the same but fails. Frustrated already Augustus's eyes widen in realization. "Of course!"
"It's like creating something you know all too well. Look." Making another circle Augustus made a small tower in front of them. Mattholomule eyes widen but nod staring at the illusion he made a yellow circle himself and tapped the floor. Said tower was created perfectly as a replica a few things looked weird, but it looked good. It was quite small, but it was an impact for Mattholomule. "Whoa." Augustus chuckled and nodded. "Not on construction but yeah." Mattholomule ears twitched and turned a bit pink, but he shook his head and closed his eyes, focusing hard on the illusion Matt made a circle again this time a small version of him was created. It was hazy and blurry but still there and running around in circles.
"Amazing! You did great Mattholomule! You should do an inanimate object, it's simpler." Augustus smiled and cheered while clapping, "I know." Matt flickered a strand of hair before looking up at the sky. "It's getting late." Augustus nods softly while standing up and helping the shorter boy up. "Same time next, next week?" Augustus smiled softly scratching the back of his neck while Matt nodded softly. "Bye August." Matt walked and waved not looking at Augustus. "Bye Matty!" Matt blushed but kept his wave at the younger boy. Not noticing that Augustus had a big smile.
Too tired to even, think of food when Matt arrived at his house, he just removed his yellow vest and stayed on a white tank top shirt with tattered arm sleeves. Groaning a bit Matt lazily walked to his bed. He threw his shoes at the corner and removed his pants while jumping on his bed and letting the comfort of it drift him to sleep.
