Chapter 28: This Time I Will Be The One Who Will Protect You

Rosé's Pov

I'm staring at her empty table right now. Its been a week since that day and no one has heard about them yet.

I tried calling both of them but it seems like both of them turned off their mobile devices .

And ive been thinking about this  for the past couple of days. I'm not really sure about this but i think our parents arranged our marriage because becky's past.

But i need to clear this out. And i guess this is the time for me to do the right thing.

I fixed my table and called my secretary.

" Cancel all my appointments today. Thank you"

......

I took a deep breath.   And yet again here in front of the Armstrong group building. As i enter the building lots of eyes are now focused on me.

Probably wondering why I'm here after the scene last time.  I know those looks.

Looks of pity and curiosity . But I ignored them and went straight to the VIP elevator. I'm starting to get nervous.

As i enter Mr. Armstrong's office, a gentle smile from him welcomed me.

" i was really surprised when you called my office saying you wanted to meet me. Please have a seat" he said and pointed me to the couch in front of his office table and he stood up and sat across me 

" So what brought you here rosé?" He asked with a polite smile. .

"I'm here to talk about my arranged marriage with your daughter. " i said in a very serious tone and I watched as his facial expression changed into a serious one.

"What about it?"

I took a deep breath before answering her 

"I would like to cancel our marriage"

He then nods slightly .

" So i guess you already heard about it. "

"I saw it. I saw them that day. "

And again he just nod and we both are silent for i dunno how long.

Mr. Armstrong seems to be thinking so deed and he looked at me with a gentle smile.

" cant you reconsider it? I will do my best for them to break up. Think of the people who will be affected once the marriage got off. " he said in a low but serious tone.

I smiled at him.

"Mr. Armstrong you dont need to lie. Both be ky and i know you have other reason as to why you wanted us to be together and it is not because of the bankcruptsy. Both our companies are doing good with ourt being connected to each other. "

" i see." Mr. Armstrong answered i stayed silent and waited for him to speak further 

" does becky know? Is that why she confronted me?"

I shook my head.

" i dont think she already know. She just knew that theres something else about the marriage. But if its because of her past. Right? " i asked hoping to get a clearer answer 

" Since you already knew i guess i dont have a choice but to tell you the truth. And i hope you will understand why we needed to arrange your marriage" he said. And i wonder how can he be so calm right now.

I listened to everything he said and i wasn't able to talk for a moment. He waited for mr to digest everything i just heard and looked at me with his kind eyes
