I walked along the path and felt my nervousness increase when I saw Katherine's castle. I was going to do it. I was going to tell Katherine I liked her. I was so nervous! I mean, what if she didn't like me back. I mean she's a princess by blood and I'm a 'princess because I'm the last of my kind. She's a fairy and I'm just a gnome. I guess we are both short...
"Shelby!" Katherine called and she came into sight from around a corner.
"Kath!" I greeted as I hugged her. We broke apart and I looked up at her. She was so pretty, I blushed. "I-I have something t-to tell y-you," I stammered.
" What, " she asked curiously. I looked at her again and took a deep breath.
"I-I," I started. " I ummmm. I l-l" I screwed up my eyes and blurted, "I love you Katherine!" I opened my eyes and saw her looking really shocked. Before I knew what happened I felt her lips on mine. She pulled away and I felt a smile make its way into my face.
" I love you too Shrub. " she said.
