Two Year Later

Opening the door, I embraced Amber in a big hug. It was thanksgiving break and nana was hosting dinner, this was a special year as my parents were joining. I was really excited to see them, its only been a few months since I moved back but nana and everyone has been so supportive

Luke and I were started talking slowly after the wedding and since then we've been great. I got my own apartment in the city but I visit him almost everyday. Though I decide to forgive Luke, it took me a while to trust him again and start our relationship... plus the family was still pissed at him

"This house smells amazing" Amber laughed as she carried the small baby wrapped in her arms

I couldn't help but cheese at the little girl clinging on her neck, I knew she would have a girl. George and Amber make the cutest baby but I swear she looks exactly like Amber, nobody else believes me but I know how strong our genes are

"Is that my grand-baby Heaven?" I heard my aunt call as she walked towards the door

This was a big gathering as my entire family was present plus Luke and Landon. Nana and I have been cooking all day for this evening, we had everything set out from turkey to dessert. Amber's mom came over to grab the baby and give her a break

Heaven often cried a lot when she wasn't near her parents but whenever grandma was here she was calm and cool. George followed behind with the baby bag and we all walked to the living room, most of my uncles and cousins were here now and we were only waiting on my parents. Luke had went to the store with my uncle to get some ice but everything was ready to go

Landon was getting so tall now and I couldn't help but cry at his growth. I swear it feels like yesterday he was 8 years old playing with toys, now he's a teenager. Landon was also growing into his features and I could tell he was going to look like Luke

I'm happy we were able to rekindle our relationship, I loved this kid so much and would never want him to feel abandoned. Savannah officially stoped contacting him last year, it was the worst thing a kid could experience at his age. It was really hard for Luke to help him and I started visiting more often to help them out. I convinced Luke to get Landon a therapist and it's been helping him so far, I just couldn't believe Savannah would do that to him. We weren't best friends or anything but from what I knew about her, she loved Landon so much. I think things are happening behind the scenes but Luke doesn't even allow us to mention her name

The doorbell rang again and we all stood up as my parents walked inside, it was silent for a moment as my mother awkwardly walked inside. This was her first time in almost 15 years seeing her family...

"Hey, I brought the drinks" my father cheered breaking the silence as my uncle jumped up to bring him into a hug

My dad always knew how to change the mood in the room, everyone greeted them and had deep decisions about life. My mother came over to the couch and gave me a tight hug

"How have you been?" she asked looking at me

I haven't been home in a while since I moved down here, "I'm doing good"

"Is... Luke here?" she hesitantly asked

My parents meet Luke after our fall out so the relationship between them isn't the best... though it kind of upsets me I understand why they feel that way. Imagine meeting the man who broke your daughter heart so bad she had to run home for 3 years...

"He went to get ice but is on his way back, please me nice mom" I reminded not wanting negative emotions tonight

She gave me a tight smile as she rubbed my arms, "I will try but... don't expect much" she mumbled
