Season 2, Episode 2: Declaration of War

Alex, Izuku and All Might were in the lounge room talking about One For All and the upcoming Sports Festival.

All Might: This Sports Festival, it's something that the pros, no, the entire country will be watching very closely. I want you to think of this sports festival as your debut! You are the fledgling Symbol of Peace. The Next All Might! Izuku Midoriya! I want you to introduce yourself to the world and proudly say "I am Here"!

Izuku: But, All Might, that's your catchphrase! Besides, what can I do?

All Might walked back towards the couch.

All Might: You both know how the sports festival is set up, right?

Izuku: Oh, yeah. Of course.

Alex: Students are separated by class year.

Izuku: Then the support, business, general studies and hero courses all fight against each other in a bunch of preliminary trials.

Alex: And whoever makes it through the games, face off in the finals. Basically one big round-robin tournament.

All Might: Right! Meaning you'll both have plenty of time to sell yourselves!

Alex: Huh?

Izuku: I guess.

All Might the fell backwards in a comically action.

Izuku: I mean, your absolutely correct, All Might.

Izuku then began to go on a muttering spree as Alex was helping All Might.

All Might: Man! No one's better at spitting out word-vomit than you, kid!

Izuku: Oh, hey! Are you okay?

All Might: Some heroes aims for the top while others happily settle. The difference between those two mindsets has a big impact on how far you'll go in the real world.

Izuku looked down as Alex folded his arms.

All Might: I understand how you feel, and I may be projecting a bit of myself into you. However, I hope you haven't forgotten the emotions you felt back at the beach during our training.

Izuku: I haven't, it's just I'm kind of nervous that I won't be able to use One for All effectively during the Festival enough to impress the scouts.

Alex then stepped in front of Izuku.

Alex: Alright, listen. We know your not the biggest kid, so you can't just go swing at people twice your size. I mean don't get me wrong, I've fought people stronger than me a ton of time and when I had to, I have—

Izuku: Oh, you mean like that time you told me about the fight between you and that Rhino guy?

Alex: Perfect example. When the other guys bigger, you got to be quicker. Got it?

Alex turned towards All Might and gave a thumbs up.

Izuku: W-Well, that's easy for you to say! I can't move like you can.

Alex turned around again and looked at Izuku.

Alex: Alright, our 'em up. Without your quirk, hit me.

Izuku: S-Seriously?

Alex: Yeah! Come on.

Alex put his fist up as All Might watched from the background as Izuku put his fist up and walked forward.

Alex: First thing, don't let the adrenaline get to you. Breath slow, breath deep and relax. Hips square to your opponent, let them make the first move. Now use your feet and when they go off balance, look for an opening.
