The week almost flew by and it was already Friday night. I felt a pit in my stomach rest on the very bottom the whole day.

I was hanging out with Iñaki for one last day as he said it. "So since it's the last day before you are off to South Africa so god knows what. I'll treat you to something." I said as we both walked to my car Iñaki and me both wearing pj pants

"Oh what?" Iñaki said sitting in the passenger seat

"Well that's your choice. It's your treat." I said starting the car

"I thought you said it was your treat." Iñaki said confused

"No I said I'll treat you to something. Where do you want to go. And what do you want to do." I said as my phone connected to my phone

"Better pick a place now cause I need to put it into google maps." I said taking a sip of the random left over drink I had in my car, Iñaki giving me a weird look for doing so.

"Come on." I said making Iñaki clear his throat and think for a minute. "I got just the right place." Iñaki said before typing in 5th avenue and 2nd street

Iñaki didn't tell me what the place was he just told me to drive there. "You'll like it I promise." Iñaki said messing with the radio

"One, This is a thing for you so make sure it's a place you like. And two, pick a channel." I said slapping at Iñakis hand lightly

"I do like this place. It's just I think you would like it too." Iñaki said crossing his arms and leaning back in the seat

After terrible traffic even though it was ten o'clock at night we finally made it. It was a little corner of the street that had an amazing view. The clear water shining in the lights from buildings behind it.

There was some quite music in the background coming from an old man on a bench not too far. And an almost alluring smell from a taco stand.

"Whoa." I said looking at Iñaki who was returning it with a smug smirk

Iñaki grabbed my hand, his hand cold and soft. He pulled me over to the old man who sat playing the guitar

"hola jose ¡Te compré un nuevo amigo!" Iñaki said sitting down on the bench next to the old man or Jose. (Translation: Hi Jose, I bought you a new friend.)

"ahhh Iñaki me preguntaba cuando volverías a visitarme." Jose said his voice horse as he hugged Iñaki (Translation: ahhh Iñaki I was wondering when you would visit me again.)

"Sé que ha pasado mucho tiempo. Oye, lo siento, pero no estaré en la ciudad por un tiempo, así que... me gustaría presentarte a [Name], ellos te harán compañía." Iñaki said his hand on Jose's shoulder in a comforting tone (Translation: I know it's been a long time. Hey, I'm sorry, but I won't be in town for a while, so... I'd like to introduce you to [Name], they'll keep you company.)

"¿Cuánto tiempo?" Jose said a frown growing on face (Translation: How long?)

Iñaki sighed before answering "dos años" he said before pulling Jose into a tight hug (Translation: two years)

"Te extrañaré. y me aseguraré de que [Name] esté bien. para ti Iñaki" Jose said a few stray tears falling down his wrinkled face (Translation: I will miss you. and I'll make sure [Name] is okay. for you Iñaki")

"Gracias. viejo amigo." Iñaki said patting Jose's shoulder before sitting up and putting his arms around my shoulder (Translation: Thank you. old friend)

"That's Jose. I told him to keep an eye on you while I'm gone. He's really nice. But...bad part he only speaks Spanish but. You know google translate." Iñaki said his eyes red along with his cheeks and nose

It wasn't that cold so I could tell. Leaving Jose was a hard thing for him. I don't know why but I understand leaving people is hard.

I place a hand on Iñakis shoulder making his turn around. Slowly I pull him into a hug. Iñaki melts into the hug gripping onto my shirt. I could feel the corner of my shirt turn wet. And Iñaki made small whimpers.

I could only rub his back and repeat "it's going to be fine."

After about ten minutes Iñaki stood up. Almost my whole shoulder was wet from tears. Iñaki wiped his face before smiling at me again.

I turned to see that Jose was now gone. Hm.

"Listen I'm going to get us some food you go sit down okay?" I said to Iñaki like he was a school child, he nodded before waddling to the a bench near the water

I walked up to the truck. I looked at the menu and tried to figure out what on earth Iñaki would want to eat. But from what I've seen he's kinda open to anything

I ordered two things of Birria tacos, and two orders of carne asada.

I walked back to the bench were Iñaki sat holding the receipt with my number. It's not like anyone else was there. But I still held onto it like my life depended on it since the breeze started to pick up

"You okay?" I asked turning my head to face Iñaki

"Yeah. I'm okay." He replied his voice kind of tired

His eyes were puffy and he sniffled a bit while we waited for our food. "Number 13"

I got up from the bench and walked over to the truck. The plates were hot as I rushed back to the bench. I handed Iñaki one of each a small smile growing on his face

"I didn't know what you wanted so...I got the safest options." I said as Iñaki immediately started to eat the food

I laughed before started to eat my food. The meat was to die for and the nice and crispy veggies on the taco. Mm

We both finished our food and just sat there, enjoying each-others company as the water gently crashed against rocks. It was so calming

How the city had quieted down. All you could hear was the breeze hitting against your ear and the moving water.

If this is the last night with Iñaki, I'd be happy to say goodbye
