My Alpha Storm

Chapter 9

"Hey, wait for me everyone" Nathan calls running to catch up with the group. "Don't be a cry baby Nath, and if we don't move fast we will be late for dinner, you've already slowed us down" Riya replies squinting her eyes "I'm the one who slow us down, Who was the one who insisted to pluck every-damn berries on the trail" Nathan argues and everyone chuckle at the bickering twins.

"This was such a good idea to visit you Sky" Rain says slinging his arms with Sky "If anyone it's you who are a cry baby Rain" Sky says smiling and Rain huffs. "No, you've yet to meet my babies they are the real devil of crying" Joy says dramatically. "I can't wait to meet them" Rain happily announces.

They all were returning back to pack-house as their work was done. Riya insisted to walk back for the berries and everyone agreed. Joy had told them about her mate- Ben and children Lucy and Ed who were currently on a trip with Alpha Vegas. "They will be here soon" Joy informs smiling.

Tall pine and deodar trees were surrounded everywhere, trails covered in pine leaves leading them from one hill to another. It was magnificent view of tall trees creating waves of green, each tip piercing the horizon. Rain could hear the light stream of river at a distance and although there were less wildlife but every once in a while he could hear the call of the mountain bird.

As they near a boulder on the trail nearing the pack-house Joy smells her mate and went to him ahead smiling. "Where are they, I want to introduce them to someone" She says hugging her mate looking around for her pups. "Honey, hey, they..umm" Ben, her mate gives her a nervous smile and Joy ask again in serious tone. "They were right here, I had just turned to check up on others, when I turned back they were not here" Ben informs slowly "how can you lose them, they are your pups!" Joy panics and Ben hold her in his arms "it's ok, it's not the first time, everyone is searching for them" Ben soothes her.

Everyone starts to search for the children and scatters around. Rain was praying hard that children are safe, even if he had yet to meet them; he already felt the connection with them. They were his pack, his people he keep looking out for them. Suddenly he hears  a crying sound in distance and speed up to it. As he neared the river the crying got louder and louder, he spot the two children one no older than 4 and other 3, crying their lungs out. But Rain falters on his step as he watches another person standing before them with a strict and unhappy face, and by the aura of him it was a powerful wolf.

Rain didn't think twice before he ran towards them "step away from them" he says coming to stand between the children and unknown person. The sudden presence of him made the crying stop and the person took a step back in surprise but swiftly compose himself and glare at Rain "I should be the one saying that, get away from them", Rain push back children a little and stretch his arms around them in protection.

The stranger sighs "do you even know who am I?" the person ask emitting his aura and watch in astonish as the little omega although scared but still glaring at him not leaving the children. "I don't care who you are but you cannot bully them, these are my people, I'll not let you harm them" Rain announces meaning every word he said.

"Your people?" the person ask surprised and Rain got confused when the stranger chuckles and gives him a smile with a knowing look. The person was about say something when a voice calls out "you found them!".

Joy holds her children close then inspect them for any harm before standing "thank you so much you found them, and I'm so sorry for the trouble Luna Pete" Joy says in relief making Rain surprise "Luna!"

Pete smile at Rain showing him the dimples then turn to Joy "I must admit these are little handful but I love them nonetheless"

"What did you do this time, Lucy, Ed?" Joy ask the children who gave a cheeky smile "I waz hungy momma" "and I caught a fish" both children says one with doe eyes and another with a proud smile showing a small fish on his hands making Joy sigh.
