As the battle raged on, Aquaman took the initiative by driving his trident into the ground, unleashing a powerful shockwave that forced Fury to seek cover behind her shield. This momentary distraction allowed Wonder Woman to capitalize on the opening, slamming her sword into Fury's shield and forcing her to drop to one knee.

Fury, ever resourceful, reacted swiftly. She retaliated by using the edge of her shield to strike Wonder Woman's foot, creating an opening for an elevated back kick that caught the Amazonian Princess off guard. Simultaneously, she sidestepped Aquaman's trident lunge, striking him at the side of his knee before delivering a devastating roundhouse kick to his head. Both heroes staggered back under the ferocity of her assault.

Undeterred, Fury charged towards them, leaping into the air for a flying kick. However, Aquaman and Wonder Woman coordinated their efforts. Together, they blocked her kick, overpowering her and pushing her down to the ground. They thrust both the trident and the sword forward, aimed directly at Fury. She managed to block their attacks with her shield, but she couldn't evade the sucker punch that Aquaman landed on her blindside. The blow left her momentarily vulnerable, and Wonder Woman capitalized on the opportunity, bashing Fury's skull with her shield, forcing her to the ground. The battle continued to intensify as Fury, undeterred by the loss of her weapons, swiftly regained her composure. She rolled to her feet with impressive agility, using her knee to block a front kick from Wonder Woman. With remarkable speed, she executed a well-timed roll onto her back and delivered a powerful elbow strike to Aquaman's stomach. Then, in a flurry of action, she unleashed a barrage of high back kicks to his face, causing him to loosen his grip on her head.

Seeing her ally in distress, Wonder Woman attempted to intervene by grabbing hold of Fury's unused leg. However, her interference was met with a swift and punishing kick to the face. Aquaman, his vision blurred from the relentless assault of kicks, was left seeing stars as Fury finally broke free from his headlock.

Wonder Woman's quick recovery allowed her to seize an opportunity. She agilely leaped over Fury, positioning herself behind the blonde Amazon, and expertly locked Fury's arm in a tight elbow hold, restraining her movements.

But Fury, despite her disadvantageous position, was not one to give in easily. She taunted Wonder Woman with words carefully chosen to provoke a response. "I took pleasure in hearing what my father did to your island, watching it burn, your sisters begging for their lives, and your mother when he killed her," Fury hissed, aiming to inflict emotional pain as she got under Wonder Woman's skin.

The mention of her mother's death at the hands of Steppenwolf struck a nerve in the Amazonian exile. Her blood ran cold at the thought, and despite her disciplined warrior training, a surge of anger and sorrow welled up inside her. "Liar," Wonder Woman hissed through clenched teeth, determined to maintain her composure even in the face of such a personal and painful taunt.
