You and Morgen returned to the ball, where Captain Julius introduced you to the other members of the Azure Deer, one by one. The elegant members, mostly royalty or high-ranking individuals like Morgen, made you feel a bit insecure since you were unsure of your own status. However, Julius reassured you that there was no need to be afraid and revealed that you were adopted by him.

After the long ball, you took a quick bath and went to take a nap, still pondering the events of the day. You wondered if you were truly experiencing flashbacks of your old self. Eventually, you drifted off to sleep, letting go of your overthinking.

As the sun rose, it marked another normal day for you to adjust. You did laundry and cleaned the base, while Morgen was at his home picking up some things. Yami was engrossed in training with his dark magic, and Captain Julius was on an important mission.

Feeling bored and lacking someone to talk to, you fell into the same old routine day after day, until your captain made an announcement.

Subsequently, Julius called you and Morgen, standing side by side.

"This is your lucky day, Y/N. You'll have your first mission for the Azure Deer," Julius declared, with Morgen clapping in excitement. You were astonished by the sudden announcement.

"Finally, a mission," you exclaimed. Julius explained that you and Morgen would be exploring a mysterious island near the Clover Kingdom to investigate certain phenomena.

"Why would you assign me to this mission? I'm still a newbie here," you questioned.

"That's precisely why I'm giving you this task: to further unleash your magic. Morgen will be your guide. I believe you two are already friends, right?" Julius replied, and you couldn't agree more. He was the reason you and Morgen had become closer.

In your excitement, you instinctively held Morgen's hand and embarked on the mission. First, you had to learn how to ride a broom, but you struggled with it until Morgen assisted you. Though you felt embarrassed by your inexperience, Morgen had no problem with it.

As you and Morgen took to the air, he asked you a question.

"Sorry, I haven't had a chance to talk to you in the past few days, Y/N. How have you been? Are you okay after what happened?"

"I'm still trying to piece together my past, and sometimes I overthink it, but overall, I'm okay. I'm just excited to see how this mission unfolds," you responded, sharing a smile with him.

As you reached the island, you immediately sensed its ancient aura. Surrounded by moss, you and Morgen ventured inside, relying on a lantern to light your way.

As you explored the place, you came across several symbols that neither you nor Morgen could decipher. Morgen diligently took notes while your eyes caught sight of a shiny necklace hidden within a rectangular rock.

"Hey, Morgen, come and see this," you beckoned him, and he was astonished by the sudden glow. It seemed that you had stumbled upon some mysterious jewelry in this ancient place.

"Y/n..."

What was that?

Was that a voice I heard?

Why is it calling me?

"Morgen, am I the only one who hears it? I think it's calling my name," you said, feeling increasingly frightened.

"I don't hear anything, Y/N," he replied, taken aback by your response.

"Y/n..."

The voice continued, slithering into your ears.

Unable to bear it any longer, you threw the necklace away, surprising Morgen. However, the necklace had other plans and forcefully attached itself to your neck.

You desperately tried to remove it, but it wouldn't budge. You also noticed that the necklace was slowly draining your mana. Morgen attempted to help, but his efforts were in vain.

Panicking, you screamed, "Oh no, no, no! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?" The jewelry seemed impossible to remove.

"We have no choice but to report this to Captain Julius," Morgen suggested, knowing that if anyone could deal with such things, it was Julius.

As you both planned to leave the place, rocks began to fall all around you. Running for your lives, you screamed, but Morgen remained calm, protecting you with his light magic. You couldn't help but feel lucky to have him by your side.

Once outside, the entire place collapsed, leaving behind only the ancient inscriptions. You breathed heavily, processing everything you had discovered. And to add to it all, the necklace remained stubbornly attached to your neck.

"Do these things happen every time you go on a mission?" You asked with curiosity.

"All the time, Y/N, all the time. But you're going to get used to it, don't worry," he shared with a little laugh as your face started to have pink tints. Why is he always like this? He should be worried at some point.

Before you two headed straight back to the base, you explored the whole island. It seems that they have different plants and ecosystems. Morgen takes a sample of one of those plants as you admire the sunset. Even though this was a hectic day, you two still managed to stay alive.

"Y/n, I just wanted to say that this has been a memorable experience with you. I'm quite popular with people, but I have had little to no friends." You're shocked by his words. No friends? He's kind, smart, and approachable, but he still has no one to rely on. Your eyes widen at his claim.

"Hmm, don't bother to argue, but I believe you deserve more people who can treat you right. Although I'm not able to clarify it, you're an amazing person, Morgen. I'm glad that I met you." Morgen gives a half smile and sits down near the sunset.

"Well, I can believe that people have their own standards when it comes to having friends. I myself am very welcoming, but people are too overwhelmed by what I have achieved so far. Not to mention, my parents are expecting me to be good. But I had a different feeling that I might be left out since they also focused on Nacht." You pat his shoulder.

"Sometimes, there are problems that we do not understand right away, but there is a clear way to know them. They should be intended by the right people." Morgen is shocked by your words and starts to giggle, even though you couldn't hear it.

"I'll take note of that."
