The Bad Sanses wanted to stay with Ink. They never wanted to let him go again. Not after everything that happened, and especially not after he told them about the creator and when he did to him while he was going through all that pain. They had no idea that at any moment they could come along and hurt him, but now that they knew, their attachment to him grew even worse. Ink did like the attention, it had been a week and a half of affection, and relaxation, watching movies. Those ten days had done well to somehow rewire him and make him start thinking that maybe he did actually deserve some love.

It wasn't immediately fixed though. Millions of years worth of being beaten down and degraded wouldn't be fixed with less than two weeks of love. But they did try their hardest to be with him. He was recovering well. He wasn't back to normal, not yet, but he was getting better. Every meal he had Horror slipped some of the cure into it, the taste was vile, and he refused to eat it unless he really had to. Ink was aware of the lacing of the cure, but he couldn't taste it and he was getting better so he actually really appreciated it. He especially appreciated that Horror would make specifically really strong food so that it would hide the horrid taste.

Once the initial shock wore off that they loved him he became very smitten very quickly. He figured out that he loved them too in a few days, which was the quickest he'd ever been able to decipher his emotions like that in his entire life. Maybe because after this they were just so painfully obvious after everything that happened between them.

Though as much as he was smitten, and affectionate, and wanted them at his side all the time, they couldn't be. Ink was surprised they could hold themselves back from going out and destroying aus for him. He was even more surprised when he learned about the effect their LV has over them. He saw them first hand, Dust being snippy, Cross being withdrawn, Killer not being able to keep a knife out of his hands, Horror biting his fingers out of stress and barely eating. Nightmare and Error were more alright, but Ink hated seeing the others like this, almost as much as they hated seeing him in his pained state. Yet they pushed all those feelings away, burying them down for Ink's sake. But just because he was an oblivious idiot, didn't mean he couldn't tell that something was very obviously wrong with them all.

"Guys...?" He muttered as he stumbled into the living room.

"Yeah Ink, what's up?" Killer asked as he spun one of his daggers in his hands.

"You all aren't really okay, are you?" Ink asked, flopping over the couch and into Horror's arms.

"We'll live." Dust said tiredly.

"You... you should go out there. And do... do what you need to do." Ink said, catching all of their attention and surprising them all.

"Really?" Cross asked, though thinly veiled excitement shone through his confusion before he could manage to hide it. "I-I mean... we couldn't leave you here alone Ink."

"I can take care of myself for a few hours. I'm not a baby."

"We know that but... what if you get hurt again?" Horror asked.

"I can sit on the couch and watch movies for a few hours. I can get a snack. I'm like older than all of you, been taking care of myself longer than you've all been alive. You can leave me alone for an hour or two and I'll be fine."

"Thank fuck, I need outta here. Love you Ink, wanna be here with you, but I also really need to stab some people right now." Killer said, standing up and gripping his knife tightly.

He ran up to where he knew Nightmare and Error were and left the rest of them alone. Ink giggled at his reaction and spent another few minutes convincing the others that he'd be okay. Cross worried a lot, and he was very concerned for his safety. Dust was freaked out and despite how he refused to say it out loud he was scared of the idea of losing him. Horror also worried a lot and didn't want to let him. Go, especially after he spent so long without food. But by the time Killer managed to drag Error and Nightmare back downstairs to take them off to an au for them to destroy they were hesitantly convinced.

They left Ink alone and he put on another Disney movie, it was the only thing he had been watching for the last few weeks.

They made pretty quick work of the au. Dust was finally able to let out his magic, and he was actually taken to a different au alongside Error so he could release all that buildup without injuring any of the other's. Nightmare leaned against a tree and watched them all murdering the residents of this au, he looked out for Dream or Swap showing up. Which they did, or, Swap did on his own. His weapons were not summoned and Nightmare didn't sense any intent to fight with them. He approached Nightmare, and got nothing in response, his body stayed relaxed against the tree.

"Hey, again." Swap said nervously.

"Hello Swap. Did you manage to keep Dream alive?" Nightmare asked monotonically.

"Despite your best efforts, yes, he is alive."

"Did I at least manage to injure him painfully?" He asked, a sinister smile spreading over his face.

"I'm not here to talk about Dream. I'm he-"

"Here for Ink, I am sure. You will not be able to convince him or me to let him go with you."

"That's not what I want to do. I want to make a deal with him, or with you, or with whoever I have to to ensure his safety."

"You might want to talk to Dream about that, he is the only threat to his safety at the moment."

"I know." Swap said, sighing and leaning against the same tree Nightmare was against, right next to him, though not touching him. "I am doing this with Dream'S consent, and at his request. I know that you all probably wouldn't hurt him, you seem to care for him quite a bit, but he doesn;t know that. Please just humour him."

"It is not my responsibility to pacify Dream's delusions that we are hurting and manipulating Ink."

"No. No it's not. I know you don't care about him, and this would definitely give him peace of mind. But wouldn't it also give you, and Ink, and the rest of the Bas Sanses peace of mind as well? To reach an agreement that Dream will leave you all alone."

"He would do that?" Nightmare asked curiously.

"Possibly, if he thinks that Ink will be safer with you."

"Could he ever believe that?"

"I don't know. But one thing's for sure. I honestly believe Ink is much safer with you. He's definitely much more relaxed and comfortable. He would never sleep on the couch in front of us. Dream doesn't like laziness."

"Would you be able to convince him of that fact?"

"Me? Probably not. But Ink might be able to. If he can convince Dream that you all haven't used magic or something to manipulate him."

"Well, we have not done that. We would never do that to him."

"Yes, but Dream doesn't know that. And he's convinced himself otherwise."

"I... I will ask Ink if he would like to meet with him. If he does not want to see him then there is nothing I can do. I will not force him to see someone who has attacked and abused him."

Swap flinched at the word abused. He opened his mouth to defend him, but as he thought about it he realised that he was right. What Dream had done to him was abuse. What Swap had allowed ream to do to him was abuse. He stood by while his friend was being abused by his lover. He didn't like that idea, and Nightmare could tell. He whispered a small 'thank you' before walking away and teleporting out of the au. The conversation hadn't gone too bad, especially considering how Swap assumed that Nightmare would attack him on sight. He was happy, as happy as he could be. But he knew that convincing Dream that this was all okay, and that nothing bad would happen to Ink would be a hard task. Even just talking to him after what he just realised was going to be hard. Sometimes he felt like he was walking on eggshells around him, especially when he was frustrated, but the word abuse had never even been a thought in his mind. But Nightmare was right. Dream abused Ink, verbally and emotionally-never physically, but that meant nothing.

In many ways, he had also abused Swap too, but that realisation was not something that he would ever imagine. He refused to think about that. He was sure that Dream would never do that to him.
