The air pulsed around her.
Nothing was clear, everything was distorted beyond view.
Hate. Hope. Pain. Past.
An avalanche of thoughts threatened to consume her, but she pushed them all aside.
She could do this.
She had to do this.
A competition to change your life.
Well, it had definitely changed hers.
And to think she had wanted to be here.
But none of that mattered now. She just had to make it to the end.
She was sure she could do it.
Somehow she rose to her feet.
Words she'd heard echoed through her head and secrets weighed her down.
The truth was a hard burden to bear.
