The man ushered the teens over to the small couch. Bryan and Kenneth took a seat first, but since Kenneth's side had extra room, Chaz was able to squeeze in next to him. Sabbi sat on one of the arms of the couch while Andre just sat on the floor. The man pushed the coffee table to be against the wall so he could stand in the middle to face the teens. "These plastic weapons aren't just props, they're much more than that. I created these weapons to find the chosen ones. I've been studying the prophecy of the Crystal Calamity, a high order of sorcery magic that only certain people from my universe can possess. I'm one of the only few people left there who has this kind of magic, but I've been taking advantage of it. At first, the point of these abilities were to be given to people either naturally from birth or they've trained themselves enough in sorcery to gain them. The Crystal Calamity is the root source that gives people their abilities, but ever since the Crystal Calamity has been roughly damaged, the abilities' new purpose is to help heal the damages on it. If used for anything else, it'll slowly take over your body and soul and leave you with deformities. As you can see, I don't look like an average man anymore. It's because of me using my sorcery abilities to try and find the next generation to pass down this magic to. Anyone that has had this power never tried to restore the Crystal Calamity, and if they tried, they never succeeded. They say the chosen ones are the last hope in restoring what was once pure, so I decided to take it upon myself to try and find them, which is where these props come in." He took the props in his arms before setting them down on the coffee table. "So you thought creating plastic toy weapons would help you find sorcery chosen ones?" Sabbi tilts her head. "There was no other option for me, the Crystal Calamity is deteriorating and my people need their chosen ones! This universe is the last place I can go to in order to find them!" The man exclaimed before picking up the chainsaw Kenneth had. "I sense that you were the one who was fond of this weapon?" The man asked as he pointed the chainsaw at Kenneth. "Y-Yeah..." Kenneth responded nervously. "I can tell, each weapon has all of your names written all over them. Remember though, you didn't choose these weapons, these weapons chose you." the man explained as he handed the chainsaw to Kenneth. "Which means each of these weapons will give you a sense themselves, indicating who they believe they belong to." The man took each weapon one by one and had each of the teens hold the ones he knew they were connected to. Kenneth had the chainsaw, Chaz had the scythe with the skull head, Andre had a large headed sword, Bryan had gauntlets, and Sabbi had the blue spiral sword. "Now that you all have your weapons, it's time to pass down my wisdom of sorcery to you all. We'll start with-" "Hold up!" Kenneth interrupted the man. "None of us gave consent to this! Shouldn't you at least ask us if we want to do this?" "I mean, I'm down with it." Sabbi shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, I wanna be a part of it too!" Chaz chimed in. Andre and Bryan agreed, causing Kenneth to sigh and reluctantly agree to join them. "Perfect! First things first, we'll need a leader! We have the chosen group formed, so now we need to see who'll take charge." the man smiled. "Wait, you're not going to be the leader?" Andre looked up at the man. "Unfortunately no, I'll be like your mentor to train you to control your new abilities." the teens nodded their heads before Kenneth spoke up again. "So how will you be able to tell which one of us is fit to be the leader?" "Since you are all new to this, we can't base it off of combat and sorcery skills, so you all will have to decide amongst yourselves who you believe is the right fit to lead you all in battle." Sabbi was about to say something, but before she could, the rest of the teens immediately pointed to her. "What?" She asked. "You should be the leader, it's pretty obvious." Chaz folded her arms as she leaned back in her seat. The three male teens nodded their heads in agreement. Sabbi was always seen as the leader in their friend group, so it wasn't much of a surprise that the group immediately nominated her to be in charge. "Oh, alright bet!" Sabbi smiled. "Excellent! Now that that's out of the way, it's time to train you all!" the man spoke gleefully as he went over to the floor door and opened it back up. "Follow me!" he waved the teens over. As the group followed the man, they could see lit torches hung from the walls to light up the area. Once they reached the bottom of the ladder, a large arena was shown with several taller lit torches placed around it, only a small opening being available to enter the arena. "This is where all, if not most, of your training will be! First we'll start with activating your weapons! Everyone, please enter the opening!" The man ushered the teens into the arena, each of them brandishing their plastic weapons. "Now, everyone hold your weapons close to your chests." The teens did as they were told, holding their weapons up to themselves. "Now close your eyes...you have to manifest all the power you can into your weapons in order for them to work." As the teens closed their eyes, they could feel slight shaking in their hands, but they never opened their eyes to see what was going on. "Now open your eyes!" the man exclaimed. The teens opened their eyes and looked down at their weapons, seeing all of them now glowing. "Perfect! Now before your weapons can transform, you need to transform with them! As you allow your weapons to transform, you get to manifest an outfit to change into alongside them!" It took the teens a couple of minutes to decide on their outfits since they aren't able to change their minds after the transformation was manifested. "Once you've decided on your outfits, you'll need to close your eyes again and imagine yourself in that outfit. You should feel a tingling sensation around yourself as this is happening, that means that the transformation is working. After you feel this sensation go away, that means your transformation is complete! Now you all try!" Everyone besides the man closed their eyes again and began to imagine their chosen outfits. They all felt the same sensation for a few seconds before it suddenly went away. They opened their eyes and immediately got excited as they were all in the outfits they chose. Sabbi had on a ninja like outfit, having a mix of a dark blue and black color theme. She had on a hood with her arms and waist wrapped in dark blue wrapping while wearing her black combat boots. Chaz had a devil costume on, wearing devil horns on her head and a long tail coming from the back of her skirt. Kenneth chose a ninja outfit like Sabbi's, but it was mostly a black bodysuit with a black bandana around his forehead. Andre chose a crimson red overcoat with black pants underneath. Everyone looked at Bryan in confusion when they saw he had on his normal outfit. "Oh dear, did the transformation not work? Maybe you need to manifest harder." the man asked, confused as well. "No, this is the outfit I chose to manifest." Bryan corrected him. "What? Why? You can choose any outfit you want!" Chaz exclaimed. "I know, and this is the outfit I chose." Bryan shoved his hands in his jacket pockets. "I mean, if that's what you want, but you can't change it back now." Sabbi shrugged before realizing something. "Hey, where did our weapons go?" Everyone stood there, thinking they did something wrong when transforming. "You have them, don't worry! You just need to summon them! Just clap your hands twice!" Andre was the first to clap his hands, having his weapon summon in front of him. Everyone else immediately did the same, now having their weapons on hand, but now they were all real. "Now it's time to see how you all perform in attacks!" The man spent the next couple of hours training the teens until he called it a night. Before the teens left, the man quickly taught them how to reverse their transformation and go back to normal, he also finally introduced himself as Lucius. Lucius told the teens to meet him again tomorrow so he can teach them more about their new abilities. "Alright, what the hell did we get ourselves into?" Bryan asked as he held his plastic gauntlets close. "We're getting into fights now, clearly." Chaz remarked as she moved alongside Sabbi. "If we're going to be a fighting group, we should have a name!" Kenneth smiled. "That's a good idea, but what would the name be-" "THE MIDNIGHT CRUSADERS!" Sabbi blurted out. "Damn dude, chill." Chaz looked up at her. "But that's not a bad name, that could work." "Plus you are the leader, so it's only fair for you to pick." Bryan chimed in. "Yeah, but it's a group decision, so I wanna make sure we all agree on the name." Sabbi said as she moved to the front of the group. The group agreed to the name and walked home, making sure to not be seen by the neighbors.
