I finally am able to start my walk home. Bee held me captive until I told her I would try out for the cheerleading. When I told her, she squealed so loud that heads turned. She told me that she will be trying out as well. I am happy that I made a friend.
As soon as I walk into the front door, my mom comes running up to me. "How was your first day? Did you meet any friends? I hope there weren't any bullies. Oh X'Hal, you will tell me if anyone hurts you right? How was the lunch? Do you want me to make you lunch? How are your teachers? Friendly I hope."
I sit on the bench to unlace my shoes, "It was fine. Yes I met some people. Met these two girls, Rachel and Bee, and I think we are friends. No bullies. No one had injured me. The lunch was okay. Feel free to make me lunch if you want. My teachers are friendly." I hope that I answered her questions.
My mom's shoulders relaxes.
"Oh, I am going to try out for the cheerleading with Bee!" I say as I get up.
My mom's eyes get big, showing off her green eyes, "That's wonderful sweetheart. You hear that honey? Our daughter is going to try out for the cheerleading!"
She leaves me to go to the living room to tell my dad the news. I smile and head up to my bedroom. I open my bedroom door and put my backpack down at my desk. I untie the ribbon so my hair fell loosely around my shoulders. I go over to the bathroom to take a quick shower. Once I am done, I change into the pajamas and throw my red hair up into the towel. I sit down at my desk and open my laptop. I click open my social media and notice the amount of friend requests I have. I go through the list, and add the ones that I instantly notice. Rachel. Accept. Garfield. Accept. Bee. Accept. Vic. Accept. I even add Wally as my friend online. I keep going through the list. I come across Babs. I jump at her profile picture. Her beautiful red hair framing her face, and her deep green eyes are focused towards the camera's lens. I breathe. I press accept on her as well.

The rest of the week goes by. We attend classes, have lunch together at our table, and attend more classes. My mom starts to pack my lunch, which I find relaxes me a bit more. The big day is coming on Friday. Bee and I's cheerleading tryouts. After receiving Bee's text I join her in the girls locker room. I have black shorts on with a white crop top. When I exit the locker room, Bee's eyes shot up towards me. I am finishing putting my hair up in a ponytail.
"Girl, why are you hiding those abs?" Bee ask. I know she is joking, but I now feel self conscious about my abs. Tamaraneans are born fit and we stay fit. Our schooling was how to fight and fly. Not much academics, other than the history of Tamaran. I wrap my arms around my stomach.
"Should I change?" I ask, thinking that I did something wrong.
"No girl! It puts your outfit together. Plus I think other people are enjoying what you have." Bee glance up towards a field, which I am told is called the football field. When I look up with her, I see Vic, Gar and Wally staring at me. Mouths open. A football goes flying in their direction and they jump when it fell in front of them.
My face flush with red. Then I hear a familiar voice behind me, "Guys, why are you just standing there?"
I feel a bump hit my shoulder, with catches me off balance. The person who bumped me turns around, to acknowledge what they did is wrong. The #12 football player turns around and it is no one other than Richard.
"I am so sorry...Oh god. Kori! I am sorry. God I need to really start watching where I am going," He blushes and did that thing again. Where he puts his arm up to scratch the back of his neck. That's when I feel his eyes go down to my stomach. I did not realize that I let go of my stomach when he ran into me so I can catch myself from falling. "Well, uh, I gotta go. But. Uh. I'm sorry." He turns back and starts to run off towards his teammates.
