Robin wheelies out of the Batcave and onto the busy highway. He zips in and out of traffic. I held on tight when he did so. I can feel my hair being whipped around my helmet. Before I know it we are pulling into a dark alleyway that is next to Wayne Enterprises. Robin opens a secret garage door and drives through. We come to a screeching halt, which makes me fling forward. My helmet head hits Robin's.

"I am sorry." I apologize.

Robin turns around, and takes off his helmet, "It's okay. Probably won't be the last time."

I get off the bike first and remove my helmet. Robin gets off the bike as well, and takes both of our helmets and puts them on a nearby table. I look around the garage and notice that it feels like a smaller version of the Batcave. There are multiple computers around and some backup weapons. I hear Robin coming back towards me.

"So this is where you also come?" I ask, I remove my mask so I can take it all in.

"Yea, only when I patrol." Robin tells me, "Are you ready for your first night?"

"I think so." I mess with my hair. I end up putting my hair in a low ponytail.

Robin takes hold of my hands, "Kori, you will be okay. The worst thing that could happen is..."

"Joker coming and us having to attack." I stop him.

"And if he comes, we will kick his ass." Robin promises.

"Why would Joker has asses?" I ask him confused.

Robin looks at me confused also, but a he understands what I am meaning, "Butt. We will kick Joker's butt."

I sigh a breath of relief. Robin takes my mask from my hand and slips it over my head. He pushes the loose hair for me so it won't be in my way. A smile creeps along my face. Robin nods at me, as if he is asking if I am ready. I nod back.

Robin takes me to a small elevator. I think it is only meant to have one person inside, but we both squeeze in. I think Robin can feel my heart racing when the elevator's doors close because his hand finds my, and he uses his thumb to trace the back of my hand. It helps ease my nerves. We get to the rooftop of Wayne Enterprises. I get out first and notice the many cameras that Bruce had installed. One, two, three, four... ten... fifteen. Fifteen cameras are pointed around the rooftop. Knowing Bruce there might be even more.

I see Robin going over to the edge of the roof. I join him. I look over the edge and see the busy streets of Gotham. The nightlife is lively in Gotham. I see people dressed up and ready to start their nights. Robin points out some nightclubs and bars that people go. Why would people go see bars? Bars of what? Chocolate? I shake the thought from my head. I make myself comfortable on the edge. I swing my legs over so they are dangling over the building. Robin leans on his elbows over the building.

"So..." I start to say, "we just wait?"

"Pretty much." Robin replies.

"Does it get boring?" I look over at him.

"Some nights yes. Especially when I am by myself." Robin admits.

I feel sorry with what Robin said. I can't imagine being up here by myself hours on end. We sit and watch the people go by. I look at the women in groups, all dressed up and getting in line for the different clubs. I look at the young men, also dressed up and walking into these different bars. My head swivels to a couple walking hand in hand. They are either leaving or going on a date. Like Robin and I, on our patrolling date. How sweet. I keep my eye on them, admiring what it would be like being them. They are both smiling at each other, enjoying each other's company. Then all of the sudden someone comes out of the alleyway that they just passed. My eyes narrow down closer. Something does not seem right. The mysterious person is getting closer to the girl. The person pulls something out of his coat pocket. The street lamps are reflecting off of it. Its a knife! I bolt down towards the man. I can hear Robin say something to me, but I did not catch what he said. I fly down to the man and tackle him into the next alleyway he passed. His body flies into the brick wall behind him. I hear Robin leap down behind me.
