For a moment Kennith was speechless. In love? With (y/n)? He?! "W-what? Don't talk shit, I'm not in love with (y/n)! A-and even if I were, I wouldn't have to be told by a freak like you! I am able to know for myself what I feel and what not!", the boy hissed angrily and turned to finally leave. "So long you weirdo, I hope you enjoyed wasting my time!" And with that he just left Evelynn standing there. To Kennith's surprise she didn't run after him or try to stop him, she just stood there and stared after him until he disappeared around the next corner.
"Phew, I'm rid of her for now...", Kennith thought relieved while he hurried home. "She was full of crap anyway... me, in love with (y/n).. What bullshit!" "Yeah yeah, just keep denying it. You know goddamn well that Evelynn is right!" "Oh great, now I'm already debating with myself!", Kennith thought, but he was too exhausted to be seriously annoyed. No, exhausted wasn't the right word. He was in despair. "Why me?? Out of all people, why does my life have to be so stupid and complicated?! This isn't fair...", such and similar thoughts accompanied the boy on his way home, just like before. Before, when he didn't have (y/n) to distract him from his shitty life. In fact, they were probably the only really good thing that had ever happened to him... and even that was taken away from him, by some idiotic asshole! Just the thought of (y/n) next to that boy/girl made Kennith's blood boil, and he felt the strange urge to ring (y/n)'s doorbell again right away and punch that Alex in the face!
"Huh, what a strange thought for someone who actually isn't in love with (y/n), don't you think?", this weird voice in Kennith's head asked, which apparently also had nothing better to do than to kick his ass. The pink-haired boy simply ignored it as best as he could and just turned the corner into his street, when suddenly he heard someone calling his name, and he stopped glued to the spot. He knew that voice, and he also knew its owner, it was... "Stephanie!", it escaped Kennith and he spun around, only to catch sight of the well known face of the girl with the long blond hair and blue eyes. Great, as if the day hadn't been chaotic enough already!
At first neither of them said anything, they just looked at each other in surprise. Kennith was completely overwhelmed with the situation, he and Stephanie had not seen each other since their argument, and that had been several weeks ago. Should he be happy to see her now or rather be annoyed about it? Oh man, he didn't even know if she was still mad at him or if she had just forgotten about their fight! But as Kennith knew the girl, she had not forgotten it, just as he had not. Finally he got tired of the silence and greeted Stephanie with a neutral: "Hello Steph..." He tried to speak as clearly as possible so that she could read his lips, because the girl had been deafened by a severe car accident a few years ago.
"Hello Kennith.. long time no see...", she replied with a sad little smile, which at least calmed Kennith down a bit. When she smiled she wasn't angry with him anymore. "Yeah... a lot happened...", the boy mumbled, looking down at the ground evasively. "Oh? And what? I hope nothing.. too bad." "No no, it's all right... well sorta. I met someone and- Oh, why am I even telling you this?", Kennith interrupted himself and turned to leave. Not because he didn't want to talk to Stephanie, in fact he actually had a strong urge to finally speak to her and put their argument to rest, but... he couldn't. Not today, not now, it was just too much for him at the moment. "No Kennith, please don't go! I-I'm sorry, okay? Our fight, that I didn't talk to you earlier, I'm sorry for all of that!", Stephanie cried out in an exasperated voice, and Kennith stopped to listen to what else she had to say.
"The fight was my fault, I know, and I also know that you are mad at me! But please understand, I didn't want to hurt you but only to support you! I know what you are going through right now, and I can completely understand your sadness and anger, so please don't push me away and let me help you! Trust me, all is gonna be okay, so please let's just be friends again!" "You still don't get it, do you?...", Kennith muttered softly, closing his hands tightly around the straps of his bag. He was about to freak out. "So, what do you say?", Stephanie asked hopefully, but this was finally too much for Kennith. He whirled around and glared angrily at the blonde while practically yelling at her: "WHAT I SAY?! I'M SAYING THAT THERE'S NO POINT AT ALL IN YOU APOLOGIZING, BECAUSE YOU DON'T EVEN GET WHAT THIS IS ABOUT!!"
Stephanie flinched, cause just because she couldn't hear his words didn't mean she didn't understand them, and his angry expression also spoke volumes. "YOU JUST DON'T GET IT, DO YOU?! YOU ALWAYS ACT AS IF YOU UNDERSTAND ME AND MY FEELINGS, BUT YOU JUST CAN'T! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE HARASSED AND MADE FUN OF ALL THE TIME, OR HOW IT FEELS WHEN ALL YOUR FRIENDS BETRAY AND LEAVE YOU! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE WHEN THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD HATES YOU, SO STOP FUCKING TELLING ME YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND ME!!" Kennith was breathing heavily and Stephanie looked at him with a shocked expression on her face, but before she even had a chance to answer anything Kennith just turned around and ran home as fast as he could. Adrenaline was pumping through his veins and slowly but surely his field of vision became more and more blurred. But only when he was safely home and in his room, he realized that this was due to the tears running down his cheeks.
At first the boy tried to wipe them away, but it didn't help, and so he let himself fall against the closed door of his room and slid down sobbing. Just as he had done once before that day, he pulled his legs close to his torso and buried his face in them, while burning hot tears ran down his cheeks and he sobbed uncontrollably to himself. It felt like thousands of sharp needles were stitching into his heart and like he was falling, into a pitch black, bottomless void. He was desperate, he didn't know what to do, and what was even worse: He couldn't do anything but sit here and cry, like a stupid defenseless child.
