[Song by GHOST! Oh and, fair warning, this is one of the longer chapters...]
Ah yes, Friday at long last. Adults had finally finished work and returned home, children and teenagers said goodbye to their friends and also ran home, where they all ended the day with a well-deserved dinner and then watching TV on the couch. (Y/n) and Alex did the same, because (y/n) didn't want to listen to his/her babbling about his/her great luxurious life. So they both sat next to each other on (y/n)'s bed and Alex zapped through the channels on (y/n)'s TV, looking for some good movie. The (girl/boy/o) tried as best as they could to put some space between the two of them, but Alex kept slipping up to them on purpose and now even put an arm around their shoulders, which (y/n) let pass annoyed.
As they watched Alex zap through the channels, a soft "He fixed this TV for me...", escaped them, upon which the brown-haired boy/girl looked at them in confusion. "Huh? Did you say something, cutie?" "W-what? No, I'm fine...", (y/n) quickly waved it off, and Alex just nodded before swearing quietly as he/she continued to search. "There's gotta be something good on here somewhere, it's Friday night after all..." "Hey, there's a horror comedy on! Maybe we could watch-" "Oh no, I hate those movies! Let's watch something with romance in it instead~", Alex immediately interrupted them in a flirty voice and stopped zapping for a moment to see what was on one of the many channels, while (y/n) just sighed softly. "Kennith would have watched that movie with me immediately..." "What are you always muttering to yourself?? Kennith? Isn't that the little freak with pink hair from the other day?", Alex asked in a derogatory tone, to which (y/n) hissed at him/her acidly: "Hey don't call him that, got it?" "Okay okay, calm down cutie!", Alex said, raising his/her hands defensively, but (y/n) only followed up with a miffed: "And stop calling me that all the time..." "Well, this is going awesome...", Alex thought slightly annoyed, but as it soon turned out, it was going to get much worse...
Cause while the boy/girl was still thinking about what he/she should say to calm (y/n) down, the TV picture suddenly started to noise and flicker a little, whereupon Alex annoyedly continued to zap and complained: "Ugh, typical, always these transmission problems!" But continuing to zap alone wasn't enough, as the static noise and flickering continued, in fact it almost seemed to (y/n) like it was getting stronger with each second. "Alex... w-what is that?" "You tell me, it's your TV!", he/she answered at least as unsettled as (y/n) themself, and tossed them the remote so they could take care of the problem on their own. But then the picture suddenly disappeared and the TV went completely black, but only for a few seconds, and when these were over, a brightly glowing play of neon colors suddenly appeared on the screen that moved in a hypnotic way. At the same time, a mixture of the highest and most shrill sounds (y/n) had ever heard came from the TV's speakers at a volume that made them and Alex cover their ears at the same time. The (girl/boy/o) immediately grabbed the remote and tried to turn off the TV somehow, but it was already too late for that.
The play of colors and the earsplitting noise only lasted for about two minutes, but that was already enough to give (y/n) a biting headache. But then the noise suddenly stopped and the colors became less intense, but they were still there. However they now served more as a background for the person who stepped into the picture next and simply stood there with their head down for a few seconds, before slowly raising it and looking directly into the camera. A wide smile appeared on their lips and the figure spread their arms as if to present themself before picking up an old microphone and speaking the following words into it: "Good evening dear audience and welcome to a unique special show! I am your host, Kennith Simmons, and I am going to give you a performance like you have never seen before!"
(Y/n) instantly turned their head towards the TV and put both hands over their mouth in shock. "Kennith...", they thought appalled and didn't take their eyes off the screen the whole time the boy was on it. He smiled broadly and tapped against his microphone a few times while muttering softly: "Is this thing even on? How about a little test, if y'all can hear me stand up now and give me a round of applause, aight?" As soon as Kennith said this Alex jumped up from (y/n)'s bed and applauded loudly, and similar sounds could also be heard from the neighboring houses. (Y/n) immediately looked out the window, and indeed, in at least one room of every house in their neighborhood the colorful flicker of Kennith's video could be seen.
