A wide grin crept onto Evelynn's face and she cleared her throat slightly before finally starting to tell Kennith her idea: "Sooo, let's start from the beginning. Have you ever heard of something called 'broadcast signal intrusions'? No? Well, sometimes it happens that some techies get a kick out of hacking the public TV broadcast and taking it over for a while, but that's only happened once or twice in the history of television. Until now..."

The black-haired girl grinned excitedly the entire time she spoke and gestured wildly with her hands to clarify her words. "I've noticed that you're pretty handy with technology as well. Wouldn't it be totally cool if you could also manage to hack the TV signal and have it all for yourself?" Now she looked at Kennith expectantly, but he was still quite confused at first. "Hack the... TV signal? Do you have any idea how complicated that is? All television stations are totally well secured, so that exactly something like that can't happen so easily! On the other hand... the transmission.. and the power grid...", Kennith thought out loud, and Evelynn just nodded affirmatively, even if she didn't understand anything about this tech stuff. "B-but it would still be totally difficult, and besides, what good would it do me if I actually managed to hack the signal?" "Oh Kenni, just think about it! You could appear on all the TVs in town at once, or better yet, on all TVs of the entire nation! Then you could tell everybody how shitty they treated you, and do the same thing to them that they did to you. Doesn't that sound amazing?!"

"Yeah, of course it sounds amazing, but it also sounds pretty illegal. Hacking the entire nation's television signal? I'm 18 now, so completely punishable, and they'll put me in jail for life for that!", Kennith voiced his concerns, but that's when Evelynn explained the rest of her plan: "I'm aware of that, but.. what if the police can't even intervene? Or if the people aren't able to call them in the first place? I once heard that you can hypnotize people under the exposure of very bright colors and certain sound frequencies! If everyone who saw you on TV would get hypnotized, you could-" "YOU WANT ME TO BRAINWASH THEM?!", Kennith exclaimed dismayed, whereupon Evelynn quickly put a finger to her lips to silence him.

"You want me to brainwash them? How do you imagine that? And what the heck makes you think I can do something like that??", the boy repeated in a normal tone, and Evelynn put both hands on his shoulders before answering with a confident voice: "Because.. I believe in you! And because sad lonely guys can pull off the craziest things to get revenge, so your chances are pretty good." "Thank you, how kind.", Kennith said sarcastically and suppressed a sigh. He just didn't know any further. He had reached a point in his life that he could only describe as an emotional dead end, and he saw no way out. Going back wasn't an option, he couldn't just undo his decisions after all. But had it really been his decisions that had brought him to this point?

Suddenly Kennith became angry. No, it wasn't his decisions that were responsible for his despair. It was the fault of all these stupid people, who could do nothing but break and hurt him over and over again. "It's not my fault... it's theirs." And in that moment, Kennith made another decision. One that was impossible to undo. But that was the positive thing about the dead end: He didn't care the slightest by now. He just didn't give a shit. Because seriously, no matter what decisions he would make now, they could hardly make his life worse. Cause in his opinion he already had the worst life that one could ever possibly have. So Kennith looked Evelynn seriously in the eyes and said determinded: "Okay. I'm in."

As it turned out, the plan was easier to execute than Kennith had thought, and after a few days of trial and error, he had already created a mixture of very high and loud sound frequencies, along with a bright glowing combination of various colors (it must be said that he had only been able to do this so quickly because he had been working without a break, sometimes even into the night). The hardest part of the whole operation was hacking the TV signal and getting himself on the air along with the sound and colors, but after Kennith had done a little research he had also come up with a solution for that.

Evelynn had almost always visited him in the days on which he had worked on the signal intrusion and had watched him contentedly with the work, while she had told him all possible stories which she had made up every time spontaneously. Either they were thriller-like stories, stories about mysterious murder cases, or stories about deceit and betrayal, but they all had one thing in common, in all of her stories the theme of death was in the foreground. Since he had concentrated on his work, Kennith had only listened with half an ear, but judging from what he had heard Evelynn really put a lot of details into her stories and was all in all a pretty good storyteller.

And then, after about a week of continuous work, it was finished. Kennith Simmons had successfully developed a program which could hypnotize people. Well, at least he was pretty sure that it could do that, when he asked if they should somehow try it out first, Evelynn just said: "We don't have enough time for that, let's rather get this thing working as soon as possible!" She was eager to go through with her plan, in contrast to Kennith, who was still a bit skeptical about the whole action. But Evelynn had assured him so often that nothing could go wrong and that he could finally take revenge on everyone, that Kennith could no longer call the whole thing off.

This was his once-in-a-lifetime chance for revenge, revenge for all the insults and humiliations he had to endure all these years, and so, after Evelynn's approval, he circled the coming Friday on his calendar in red highlighter. "This is it, your big night! We're going to make history, and never ever again will anyone even dare to make fun of you or look at you the wrong way!", Evelynn assured him excitedly, but Kennith only nodded with an absent look. Would he really manage to get revenge and, even more importantly, win (y/n) back? "Well... guess there's only one way to find out..."
