the blade running across porcelain skin
scratching,
turning white,
then pink,
then oozing red

it stings, doesn't it?

shuffling around in bed,
trying to get comfortable,
without putting pressure on the cuts

waking up the next morning
picking loose pants,
so the fabric doesn't rub off the dried blood

showering,
and moving your body
so the hot water doesn't directly hit it

walking a little funny
because if your legs rub together
it hurts even worse

sometimes,
the healing
hurts worse
than the wound
