"Baby I'm nervous." I told Chris as the Uber rode down the street
We're in Virginia for thanksgiving and this is my first time meeting his grandma.
Mario and Melanie are going as well.
Mel met their grandma when her and Mario dated back in high school, but I've never met her and just because I'm Melanie's sister doesn't mean she's automatically going to like me."Baby it's fine. She gone love you as much as I do."
"Yeah sis, their grandma is so sweet." Mel said
I fiddled with my fingers as we pulled in the driveway.
Chris placed his big hand on top of mine and interlocked our fingers. I relaxed a little, smiling at him.
We all got out of the SUV and the guys grabbed our bags.As we approached the door, their grandma opened it with a big smile.
"I saw you pulling up in the driveway!" She said excitedly as she hugged the boys
(Pictured: Grams)
"Hey Grams." Mel smiled
"Oh Melanie darling." She hugged her, then rubbed her belly "It's so good to see you"
Then she approached me. Her happy smile turned into a scowl as she looked me up and down.
"And you must be Erin." She glared at me
I cleared my throat "Uh yes. Hi ma'am."
"I'm just messin" she smiled and I relaxed "And call me Grams." She pulled me in for a hug
Everyone laughed as we hugged.
"Told you she'd love you" Chris said as we pulled away
"Y'all come on in. Dinner is almost ready I just have to finish a few things."
"We can help." I said as we walked into the house.
"Aw thank you sweetie. Y'all get settled first, I'll be in the kitchen." She said

"Here." I handed Chris a beer
"Thanks baby." His focus was on the football game
"You're welcome." I was about to walk off but he pulled me onto his lap
"I miss you." He pecked my cheek, still looking at the TV
