━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

outside in the driveway their webs stretch
between the car and the trees
catching morning dew drops
waiting to be seen
inside they lurk in hidden corners
waiting unnoticed in shadow
hiding from our wrathful hand

one day when i leave
and come back to visit
i wonder if the spiders will recognize
my face, or the cobwebs on my heart
or will they be long gone by then

instead i will be the one stuck in corners
stretching my life out to be fragmented
unseen, unnoticed, yet ever afraid
