Chapter 2: Those Who Return to the Ocean

3rd POV.

Kazuha:

"There is a saying,
All shall return to the sea,
To the beginning,
Where everything began,
To the Mother Sea."

As I was practicing my calligraphy, I heard a knock on my door.

Miyo: Kazuha.

Kazuha: Come in.

Miyo opens the door with a tray on her hand.

She enters the room and placed a cup of orange juice on Kazuha's desk.

Kazuha: Thank you, okaa-sama.

Miyo: So? Tomorrow is the day where you'll begin to your new school.

Kazuha: Mother, can I ask you something?

Miyo: Sure, what is it?

Kazuha: I was starting to doubt as to why did Father sent me to a former all-girls high school?

Kazuha: He could've just sent me to an ordinary high school.

Miyo: Hmm, remember what he said?

Miyo: That is your Rite of Passage.

Kazuha: Yeah, he told me that is my Rite of Passage.

Kazuha: But what should I do to accomplish my Rite of Passage?

Miyo: If I'm going to ask you, what do you want to do in your life.....

Miyo: But your circumstances is not ideal for you to find the answer.

Miyo: Or rather, there is no answer.

Kazuha: What?

Miyo: Okay, let's make it simple.

Miyo: For example, in an exam.....you were given choices but the right answer isn't there.....

Miyo: What will you do?

Kazuha: What will I do?

Kazuha: Simple.

Kazuha: I will answer it with my own.

Miyo: And there you have it.

Kazuha: So, just like Father said to me....

Kazuha: I am free to forge my own path.

Miyo: That's right. If you don't like the choices that were given to you, then make your own.

Miyo: A choice that will decide your future.

Kazuha: But...then, I'll neglect all of your efforts in securing my own future.

Miyo: No. In fact, what were doing is just preparing you in the case you choose your own path.

Kazuha: Oh.

Miyo: But then.....

Miyo: I guess it's time for you to know a secret.
