Aella knocked twice, cake in hand as she moved her hair behind her ear. She heard the shuffling in the living room as the TV plays.
Aella would bake out of boredom. Cookie, brownies, cakes— she made it all. And she'd usually bring them along with her to school for students to grab as they left the library.
Now that she had no where to put them, she opted for Mike's house. Most obvious choice, since she'd spend a little more time with them out of the house.
The door swings open, revealing a disheveled Mike, curly hair messy and eyes slightly blown out. "Aella, I'm so happy you're here." He sighs, hands on his hips.
"Hey. Just wanted to bring this to you," She handed over the plate. "It's two pieces of chocolate cake. I don't know if you like them, but I know Abby does."
"Oh, Diana loves chocolate." He mutters to himself as he lifts the plate on top of the cake. Aella presses her lips together. "Diana?" She asks. Now she could get answers.
"A friend, a girl, I don't know." He mumbles quietly, stepping into the house and leaving the door open for Aella to step in. "Ah." She nods.
"Brought you this, too," Aella holds out the black hoodie she'd been wearing for the past couple of days. "I washed it, so you might walk around smelling like my laundry detergent." She smiles and hangs up the hoodie.
