Steve tried to push the thoughts of what had happened between him and Nancy out of his head as he ran around, bouncing the basketball

It's bullshit.

Suddenly, the guy from the night before went up before him, getting ready to steal the ball from him. Steve did a few cross-overs so Billy couldn't get the ball. Billy was an aggressive player though and went up to him, pushing against him roughly

"Steve Harrington right?" Billy smirked, already knowing full well who the boy was, "I heard you used to run this school. Is that true?" Billy smirked, wondering if it was as easy to get a rise out of this Harrington as it was the other one

"King Steve they used to call you huh? Then you turned bitch," Billy laughed, "good thing you're sister is around to keep the honour of your name huh?"

Steve put two and two together and realised that this was the guy Chrissy was telling him about last night and was the one who had come up to him when he beat his record. He scolded himself for not recognising the guy straight away.

This was Billy Hargrove, word about him had spread around the school like wild-fire, almost everybody knew who he was at this point.

"Hey, maybe you should just shut up and play the game," Steve snapped, trying his best to keep his composure as he slightly shoved the other boy back

"Same attitude as your sister I see," Billy smirked, knowing damn well that, that was one way to set the older Harrington off. Steve looked pissed, shoving Billy back once more as he continued to bounce the basketball

"Stay the hell away from my sister fre-" Steve was cut off as Billy slid backwards, making Steve stumble and then shot forward, grabbing the ball quickly, tripping Steve over and then running up to the hoop, passing the ball under his leg before doing a lay up.

His team all cheered loudly for him, a few of them giving him high fives as he smirked straight at Steve Harrington. Steve was just about to storm over to the boy before he heard his name get called out from behind him. "Steve?" he turned around to see Nancy Wheeler approaching him

"Shit," he mumbled under his breath before following her outside. Billy smirked as Steve followed after the girl like a little lost puppy. Troy ran over to him, "hey good job man, Its good to see someone put Harrington in his place."

Billy grinned, shrugging his shoulders, "wasnt hard," he boasted.

"He wont be out there too long, i saw Wheeler leave with Byers so I doubt he's going to be talking to her for long out there, why dont you save your energy while he's gone and then go all out again so we can smash them," Troy said. Billy scoffed, he didnt take orders from anybody.

"Look m-" he stopped talking as she walked in. She was in her football uniform, her hair falling out of her pony tail and sweat dripping down her face. He watched as she walked over to a short haired girl who was just sitting on the stands reading a book. Adira sat down, smiling happily as her and the girl exchanged a few words.

"Dude, you listening?" Troy asked him

Adira looked away from the other girl and looked right over at him, their eyes meeting. Billy's infamous smirk twitched up on his lips, earning an eyeroll from the girl who went back to talking to her friend.

"Nah, I'm nowhere near out of energy, I dont see any point in stopping now, lets get those points back before the little bitch comes back," Billy grins, grabbing the basketball from one of his team-mates.

Adira walked into the gym, their game had just finished, her team had one 8-3. She let out a small groan as she brought her hand up to her face, wiping some of the sweat away. "Man its fucking ho-" her eyes landed on a girl over on the bleachers, a smile tugging at Adira's lips as she walked over to her.

"Hey Rob!" Adira grinned. Robin looked up from her book instantly at the sound of the familiar voice, Robin grinned widely, closing the book quickly. "Hey Adira," Robin said, her voice twinging with anxiety as she looked over at the sweating girl in her gym clothes.

"Is it all good if I sit with you? I just need a break for a while, that game was intense," she muttered. Robin quickly nodded her head, moving over a little bit even though there was literally heaps of room surrounding her.

Adira cracked a small giggle. "Nice view here huh? All the sweaty boys," Adira grinned looking away from Robin to look over at the boys playing basketball. Her eyes suddenly locked with Billy's Hargroves. Her smile faltered as she looked at him, he sent her a smirk, his eyebrows lifting a bit as he stood there shirtless, sweat dripping down his body.

Adira rolled her eyes, mentally cursing herself as she accidently let her gaze slip down to his chest for a slight second. "Yeah uh... its great," Robin muttered out, her gaze switching between Adira and Billy. Adira looked away from Billy, sitting down next to Robin with a small sigh

"Man, Im so exhausted," the girl huffed, leaning back a little before looking over at Robin, "watcha reading?"

"Oh just a book..." Robin muttered out softly

Adira snorted, "I know that much Robin," Adira grinned, rolling her eyes playfully. She reached over Robin to pick up the book she had placed on the other side of her, "Neuromancer," Adira nodded her head softly, "interesting."

The gym was filled with the sounds of sneakers screeching on the court, the bounce of the basketball, and the excited cheers of the spectators. Adira and Robin just continued to sit on the bleachers, "I dont mind reading, I just never really have time to I guess and I get bored easily," Adira admitted with a small shrug, "I don't mind that Stephen King guy though, he's got some pretty good books."

Robin nodded, "yeah he's pretty good," she couldn't help but feel a mixture of nervousness and warmth in Adira's presence.

While Adira's attention was primarily on Robin, her senses couldn't help but pick up on the subtle display that was Billy Hargrove. She couldnt deny that the boy was great at basketball, it was like nobody on the court could stop him once he had the ball, and he had really good aim too... and to make matters worse, everytime he got it in, he would send a wink straigh in the direction of Adira Harrington.

Adira forced her eyes away from him, trying to focus on literally anything besides Billy

Billy, on the other hand, was keen on making sure Adira noticed him. As he played basketball, he executed impressive moves and scored points effortlessly. His efforts weren't lost on the crowd, and every now and then even when he hadnt scored, he'd glance over in Adira's direction to gauge her reaction.

"So Rob, what's your all-time favorite book?" Adira asked

Robin didnt understand why Adira was really paying any attention to her, she wasnt popular in school and she only had a few friends from band. "That's a tough one," she replied with a grin. "But if I had to pick, I'd say 'To Kill a Mockingbird' by Harper Lee. It's a classic."

Adira smiled, "yeah? I havent read that one, I might have to check it out."

Robin felt her heart fluttering at the thought, "yeah its really good. Atticus Finch is such an incredible character."

The basketball game continued and Steve soon came back in. Adira watched as Steve and Billy played against each other, as the game progressed it was pretty much just Steve and Billy versing each other while the rest of the players just stood back and watched the game unfold.

"Steve's playing pretty well," Robin observed, her eyes fixed on Steve as he made a brilliant pass to a teammate.

Adira nodded, though her gaze unintentionally returned to Billy's performance. "Yeah, he's on fire. I'd say it has something to do with the new kid, he's only been here a few days but the two idiots seem to have it out for each other already"

Robin nodded, "yeah I noticed that."

"Boys," Adira muttered, rolling her eyes at the two of them

Robin laughed, "tell me about it."
