Floyd X Reader - Hiccups

"Do you think I should be getting ready now?" Your boyfriend asked, seeing that there were just a few minutes left before he went on stage, but instead of practicing his vocal exercises or practicing his steps, he was there in the dressing room cuddling with you.

He was so talented, but you understood why he was so nervous, it was his first show as part of the boyband together with his brothers.

"Relax, it's going to be okay." You assured him sweetly. "Breathe like this with me." You instructed, doing the breathing exercises and encouraging him to do the same.

He calmly took a deep breath and exhaled. However, when he went to take another deep breath, he was interrupted by a lovely sound that came from his lips.

Floyd was silent for a moment, until he decided to take another deep breath, which was interrupted once again by the sound, which you soon discovered was a hiccup.

Stage nervousness had probably triggered that hiccups attack.

"Oh no- hic, no, no, no, this isn't happening- hic, not now, what do I- hic, do? Hic..." He asked, getting even more nervous than he already was, which you doubted was possible.

"Try to calm down, don't be so nervous." You said, trying to calm him down.

"All right, Floyd, it's almost time..." John Dory went to the dressing room to call his younger brother, becoming equally desperate when he found him having hiccups.  "Not that, how is he going to perform with us like this, our performance today is ruined..."

"Why instead of staying like this, don't you help him get better?" Clay complained, approaching Floyd. "Have you ever tried holding your breath?"

He shook his head and held his breath as long as he could. Until he finally couldn't take it anymore and took a big breath.

You all looked at him hopefully, believing that the idea worked. Until he hiccupped again, leaving you disappointed.

"How about if he drinks water upside down?" JD suggested, which made everyone look at him without saying anything. "We can put him upside down by his legs and... What?" He asked. "Isn't that a good idea?"

"Of course not." You replied, indignant that he had considered doing that to one of his brothers.

"I think the best thing to do is let him rest."

"What?" John Dory asked in amazement. "We can't perform without him, it's his first show."

"There's no way he's going on stage with hiccups." You argued, which his other two brothers agreed with. "When he gets better, he can perform."

"... Okay." JD reluctantly agreed, resting a hand on his brother's shoulder. "Get well."

Spruce and Clay also said goodbye to him and went with their older brother to perform on stage.

"Hey, what's up now?" You asked when you noticed the sad expression on his face, lifting his chin so he could look into your eyes.

"My brothers were counting- hic, on me. I never- hic, thought this could happen now. Hic..."

"Oh, don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault this hiccup attack came now." You said, wrapping him in a hug.

"You'll see that this will pass soon and people will finally see the owner behind the beautiful voice they've heard on the records so far."

He gave you a beautiful smile.

"Only you to cheer me up in a moment like- hic, this." He said, reaching out and stroking her cheek tenderly. "... Can I- hic, can I give you a kiss?"

"Do you need to ask?" You asked between laughs. Your boyfriend also laughed with you and leaned in, planting a tender kiss on your lips.

When you both broke away from the kiss, he remained silent, seeming to be doing something you didn't understand why.

"What?" You asked confused.

"I'm not hiccuping anymore!" He exclaimed happily, jumping at you and hugging you in his arms. "Your true love kiss healed me, sweetheart."

"Then you better get to the performance before your brothers start without you, my prince." You said, kissing him on the cheek.

"Okay, okay." He got up and hurriedly ran out of the dressing room. However, he soon returned, seeing that he hadn't said goodbye to you. "I love you."

"I love you too." You said, kissing his palm and blowing him a kiss.
