If there was a specific moment in your life that you would never forget until your last days, it was when you saw your boyfriend for the first time.
It wasn't difficult not to notice him among all the other trolls, he was the most beautiful among them, it was impossible not to look.
It was as if his world filled with colors when he noticed you and gave you a beautiful smile. Amongst everyone else, you were the one who was lucky enough to catch his attention.
Your life had changed forever, it was just an exchange of glances, but you knew you had fallen in love.
It didn't take long for him to approach you and the two of you started talking, the conversations turned into dates, each day that passed you felt your love for him increase, until one day you finally asked him if he wanted to be your boyfriend.
He happily accepted and after that day you two became inseparable. Well, except when you had to do your job.
You didn't have a common job, in fact almost no one you knew knew that the job you rarely talked about was as a hired assassin.
You didn't like that job, but you had no other choice, it was the only thing you were good for.
You felt terrible about having to hide this from Floyd, since the two of you were always honest with each other about everything, but you had no idea how he would react if he found out.
He was against violence and you admired that about him, so you were afraid that if he found out, he would break up with you.
As long as he didn't ask too much about your job, you were fine.
"What about your job?" He asked, which made your eyes widen. "I know you don't like to talk about this subject, but I feel like I should know why."
You remained silent, not knowing how to respond. You felt his hand gently take yours in his and looked into your eyes.
"You know you can tell me anything, you don't have to hide it from me." He assured you in a sweet tone of voice. "But if you don't want to, that's fine, I won't..."
You tried, but you couldn't hold back your tears and cried.
"No, no, don't cry." He murmured, wrapping you in a hug. "I didn't mean to seem intrusive, I'm so sorry..."
"No, I'm not crying because of this." You clarified between sobs.
"Then why?" He asked, as he tried to wipe away your tears with his thumb.
Despite your fear that he would never want to see you again, you didn't want to lie to him anymore, so you decided to confess to him regardless of the risks.
"My work." You started. "You know when I get a call and I always come up with an excuse to cancel some of the things we agreed to do together?"
He remained silent, which you took as a sign that you could continue talking.
"I'm an assassin for hire." You finally said, which left him dumbfounded. You didn't blame him for that.
A deafening silence followed. You wanted so badly for him to say something, but you didn't want to force him.
"Why did it take you so long to tell me?" He asked softly, after regaining his speech.
"I was so afraid you would leave me after you found out about this." You replied. "What would anyone think when they found out they were dating an assassin?"
Floyd couldn't deny that he was surprised to find that side of him that he didn't know existed, since he only knew your sweet, gentle and kind side. But I had no idea that you thought he would stop loving you if he found out about that.
"I don't like getting my hands dirty, but since I was a little girl, I haven't known any other way to make a living." You confessed, leaving him surprised again.
"If you don't like this job, why don't you quit?" He asked.
You raised your eyes again, which shone hopefully with that possibility.
"... I could do that?" You asked, little bit incredulous. "But what would I do...?"
"It doesn't matter now, I'll help you with this, but I don't want you to keep working on something you don't like. I want you to be happy."
Your eyes filled with tears again, this time with happiness. You never thought that one day you would be able to leave that life behind and be able to stop thinking about the lives you had taken, even though they weren't good people.
Even though you confessed to him that you had killed people, he only cared that you were unhappy with that job. That's when you knew he loved you unconditionally, just like you did to him.
You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and pulled him in for a kiss, before hugging him tightly.
"I love you so much." You mumbled tearfully.
"I love you too." He said back, wrapping you even tighter in his arms, knowing it was the place where you felt safest and happiest.
