I arrive in the doctor's office. It smells like dumplings and beef. I turn and I see a thousand steamers. Well, I'm not counting but there is a lot. I see different types of shaped dumplings. I then see an old man. White hair looks like a god. He tuns to me.
"Please Percy, sit." He smiles.
"What are you the god of?" I ask sitting down.
"Healing. Asclepius." He introduces himself.
"You're... the son of Apollo right?" I ask.
"Yes." He nods.
He takes another dumpling and eats it.
"I am also a great friend to Chiron." He says.
"Really?" I raise my eyebrow.
"He actually was the one that brought you to my attention." He says.
"Really?" I ask.
Was he signing me up for a quest?
"Please sit." He says.
I nod and sit down. Man, these seats are surprisingly comfy. What are these made of unicorns? I actually have seen unicorns before and they're pretty angry.
"Potsticker?" He offers me some dumplings.
I don't want one but I'm realizing it would be rude not to eat one, so I take one. I stuff it in my mouth. It's not bad.
"Percy... I don't know how to tell you this but..." He starts.
"But what?" I ask.
"You're experiencing weight changes that are rapid, yes?" He asks.
"Yeah." I nod.
"Soreness?" He asks.
"Yeah."
"Feeling like your skin is changing every time you sleep?"
"...Yes..." I mutter.
"Percy these are symptoms of a disease and it's not a normal one." He says.
"Which is?" I ask.
"You have a type of Cancer." He says.
My heart throbs. At first, I let out a small chuckle, but his face remained the same.
"Wait... I have Cancer?" I ask shocked.
"Yes. But know that this is a Cancer unlike any other. It only affects demigods." He says.
"Lovely." I mutter.
"Percy, we don't know much but those who have it... undergo changes." He says.
"Changes such as???" I ask.
"Bad ones. Monstrous ones." I get up in a jolt.
I can't listen to this. I can't listen to any of this. Is he joking? He's a god, so I doubt it. I need some air.
"Uh... I gotta go." I say.
Then I bolt out of the room.
