Grace's POV
"Art has this incredible power to take us on a magical journey to the most beautiful places, both in our imaginations and in real life. Each brushstroke feels like a spark of inspiration, igniting our creativity and taking us to new heights. It's like having a special bond that's painted with colors of passion and wonder, making every moment together an unforgettable masterpiece. All you need to do is get lost in it, then the colors will guide you to your destination."
I explained to my roommate Sofie, with a soft smile and place the brush on the palette as I stepped back to admire my blooming tulips that I painted in my favourite pastel and dark shades.
"It looks so mesmerizing. You really like what you are doing, don't you?"
"I love what I'm doing."
I replied her with a soft chuckle.
"You will also start liking it eventually. You should seek guidance from your parents, they are famous artists.""And that's why they told me to take training under you because they love your work."
She just shrugged."And you are improving gradually, I'm sure you will soon be finished with your first piece."
I encouraged her and patted on her shoulder."Let's see. Well I won't take much of your time now, you should get ready for your party."
She said gesturing at the outfit placed on my bed."It's not for the party, I'm meeting my friends at night."
I sighed."At night? I thought you decided to spend your day with your friends!"
She frowned."We did decide to get lunch together but my mother set me up on another blind date for lunch so I have to shift my schedule to night."
I let out another sigh as I picked up the outfit from the bed."You've got to be kidding me! She did not set her own daughter on a blind date on her birthday."
She scoffed in disbelief."Well seems like that to me. I better get dressed quickly. The driver will be here soon."
I sighed helpless."You should speak for yourself, Grace. You can't always act like this. They should understand your feelings and give you time to choose the right one for you."
She spoke sternly.Well even if I wanted to, I couldn't. They are my parents and I should obey what they say. I have no interest in marrying a rich spoilt heir and I'm tired of going on these blind dates. All the dates I've gone to have been so boring, I bet this one won't make a difference either. All I have to do is just sit for an hour, eat my lunch quietly and enjoy my remaining evening with my friends, Luna and Isa who are just like my family.
"It's fine. I have no choice but to go on this lunch date. I've been on so many since past month so it's not that big of a deal for me. All I have to do is just sit like a doll for sixty minutes."
I said casually while placing the dress on me and look at my reflection in the mirror."So, who's your date anyways?"
Sofie asked."I don't know. He's my "blind" date."
I shrugged while looking at my reflection."How boring."
She rolled her eyes and walked over to my wardrobe and opened it."I don't mind. It's just a formality."
I replied monotonously."You should wear something beautiful. It's your birthday afterall."
She insisted while searching for the perfect outfit."Go ahead and find me a nice outfit to match with my pearls!"
I chuckled tracing the pearl necklace resting around my neck. She pulled out a blue and white patterned corset top and white knitted long skirt.
"This will be perfect. You look stunning in blue."
She squealed.
