'Oh God, what have I done. What have I done?!' I thought to myself as I speed-walked back home with a panicked pace. I just kissed a complete stranger, and I liked it. 'That's not what you do. That's not how you do things. That's not how you do anything!' My thoughts raced.

I felt embarrassed, shocked at myself. I never found myself attracted to anyone, let alone a total stranger. And worst of all, I actually wanted more of him. He kissed me with such passion, and he held me with such care. I wanted to go back there and do unimaginable things, but I couldn't. He was so strange, yet so irresistible. I made it back home and immediately waltzed up the stairs, straight to my room.

Mallory followed me, and I didn't notice that I'd slammed the door in her face. "Woah, are you okay?" She yelled, concern ridden in her voice. I freezed and cracked the door open slightly.

"Yeah, I'm great." I answered quickly, my voice trembling. She looked at me suspiciously.

"How did it go?" She asked, pressing me further.

"It was swell. He's a great... friend." I replied, trying to scrounge up an answer.

She nodded and walked away, and I closed the door behind me once more. I fell onto my bed and buried my face in my pillow, before releasing a much needed scream into the fabric. My scream was muffled, and I was sure no one would hear it. It felt good to unleash my repressed feelings, yet I couldn't stop thinking about him.

Stefan made his way back home, and he stepped through the door with his lips still swollen and his blouse disheveled from Aurora's needy fingers. Upon entrance, Dimitri pinned him against the wall with his arm.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?!" Dimitri yelled, using his arm to keep Stefan in place.

"What are you talking about?" Stefan growled, trying to fight his brother off.

"I saw you, what you did with her back there." The dark haired male elaborated, looking down at his brother with disdain.

"You saw nothing." Stefan replied simply, refusing to fight back any further.

"I saw the whole thing, you little shit!" Dimitri pressed Stefan against the wall harder, causing him to grunt in discomfort.

"Who do you think you are, going after Aurora like that, huh? My Aurora." Dimitri continued, and Stefan scoffed.

Amidst their quarrel, a confused Darius appeared behind them, alongside Valerian. "What the hell is going on here?" Valerian asked, releasing a yawn from the depths of his throat. The smaller male approached the two and ripped Dimitri off of Stefan.

Stefan exhaled and Valerian patted his shoulder. Dimitri didn't tear his eyes from his disheveled brother for even a second, and the look he gave him was one that could kill. "I went on a picnic with this girl that Dimitri likes, and he didn't appreciate it." Stefan coughed and explained. Valerian gave him an incredulous look.

"All that for a girl?" Valerian asked, furrowing his eyebrows at both of them.

"She is not just  a girl, and he didn't just  take her out for a picnic," Dimitri emphasized, crossing his arms, and inhaling before continuing, "He was about two moves away from fucking her."

"Oh, don't be a child." Stefan spat.

"Calm down, the both of you. Jesus." Valerian cut them off. It was unlike them to get into such a heated fight, it was almost unheard of. For the time Valerian had been living with them, he'd never witnessed something of the sort.

"Again, why is there such a big fuss over this girl?" Valerian continued, curious for their explanations.

"She's... special, to me." Dimitri replied softly, slumping his shoulders.

"Oh, yeah, she is special." Stefan taunted, and Valerian held Dimitri back as he was ready to pounce at him once more.

"Enough!" Valerian yelled, and Darius held Stefan back too.

"You are brothers. There is no good reason for you to fight, ever." Valerian continued, and they began calming down a bit.

"You don't know what it's like because you're not a part of this family!" Dimitri grunted, thrashing around in Valerian's arms.

"Don't bring me into this, I didn't do shit!" Valerian argued.

It took a few moments of silence for them to stop fighting, and Dimitri simply walked away. He was furious with his brother. How could he not be? He basically betrayed him and all of his wishes, especially after he specifically told him how he feels about Aurora. He turned to the kitchen and opened the fridge, taking out a small container of raw bear shoulder and a bottle of champagne.

He combined eating and drinking his feelings as he sat silently at the table, and the door opened. To his chagrin, it was none other than Stefan. "I'm not here to fight you, or argue with you, I just want to talk." Stefan paused before continuing, "House meeting!" He opened the door and yelled.

"House meeting?" Dimitri and Valerian asked at the same time, as Valerian came in.

"There hasn't been a house meeting within these walls for more than eighty years." Valerian concurred, and Stefan rolled his eyes.

"Where is Darius- Ah, there you are." Stefan hummed as Darius made his way through the door, too. As they all sat down, Stefan cleared his throat and stood up.

"I trust that you'll all stay quiet and civil while I talk."

"I don't." Dimitri grumbled, and Valerian smirked and raised his hands in defense.

Stefan made a 'hush' gesture with his fingers, and began speaking. "As some of you may know, there is a girl that Dimitri is particularly fond of. I think I like her too, and that's the problem. However, I am not willing to fight my brother over winning her affection-"

"I am not just fond of her. She's important to me." Dimitri spoke over him.

"How can a human be important to you?" Valerian asked, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back into the chair.

"Don't act like you aren't up in your room having sex with a new girl every day." Dimitri scoffed.

"Yes, well, I do that because I'm bored, not out of love." Valerian teased, and Dimitri rolled his eyes at the younger male.

"I'm not done speaking," Stefan warned, a serious look on his face. The other men at the table went quiet, and Stefan continued. "I don't know how we could both possibly pursue her, so we need to figure it out."

And though Dimitri didn't want to fight with his brother, he was prepared to draw blood if it meant that Aurora could be his. And though he didn't know it yet, Stefan was ready to do the same. And with that, let the games begin.
