NOTE

Hello! This is a heads up for everyone who are planning to read this. You may find the first five chapters boring but if you like mystries or big plot twists, can you stay? I will do my very best to make it worth your time. This is slow burn, btw. It will take time for the main characters to develop their feelings. Hope you guys will enjoy it! Thank you!

Chapter One

"Why did you choose this course?" Our instructor asked. "I want to hear your answers.

From the very beginning, I knew this wasn't the course I wanted when I applied for admission to a public university. I initially enrolled in IT at that university because I heard that it was a lucrative field. Unfortunately, I didn't qualify. Although I was eligible for other courses, I didn't continue the admission process because the remaining courses weren't as profitable. That was the most foolish decision I ever made.

And I ended up enrolling in the course that I had been avoiding.

"I chose this course because I believe it's my calling," I answered.

But is it really my calling? Masyadong maaga para sabihin.

Hearing my classmates' sincere answers made me envious. Part of me believes that this is my calling because maybe I wasn't accepted in my admission because it wasn't meant for me. Maybe my childhood was a sign that my future is to become a teacher.

Being a teacher is not a trivial job. People often look down on teachers, not realizing that they also have one of the hardest jobs. Remember, there would be no other courses if there were no teachers. That's why I can't understand why teachers and have such low salaries. They are heroes in their own fields, so why don't they receive the salary they deserve?

***

Akala ko puro introduce yoursel lang ang gagawin namin ngayon, but luckily, our instructors jumped straight into the discussion. He looked like a foreigner with brown curly hair. I was so mesmerized that I couldn't take my eyes off him.

He was a about to say something when one of our classmate sat beside him. "I like you."

Joss laughed at her. "Thanks but I'm not attracted to girls."

"Damn. I was fooled," bulong ko sa aking sarili.
