Because I had to combine two of my favorite things (Harry Potter and Pokemon). And just so there's no confusion, the actual story isn't going to feature this writing and was only written to emphasize one of the themes. This story won't be Harry Potter related at all. I know, it's sad.
Paul looked into the Mirror of Erised, wanting to look away, but unable to avert his eyes from what he saw- his deepest desire.
Men have wasted away before it, not knowing if what they have seen is real, or even possible.
Paul knew this. He knew what he was seeing was not real. He knew that it was wrong to continue staring, and yet he could not help himself.
"What do you see?" An elderly man's voice, somehow younger than it sounded, asked.
The Trainer took minutes to process this, his mind absorbed with the image in the mirror. He cleared his throat, "I see myself as the head Champion of all the regions."
"And I see a pair of socks." The man said with a lighthearted cheerfulness that wasn't light or cheerful, "It seems like we see the same thing."
