[ Chapter Thirty-One: You Are the Music in Me  ]

Age: 21

WITH MIA TAKING CONTROL OF HER LIFE, and also being the first person I told that I was pregnant, Jeremiah asked her if she could accompany me to Dr. Goldstein's appointment instead of him. He was back at the palace, keeping an eye on the kids and Maurice with Nicholas there to help him. I glanced at my twin to see her looking around the office with wide eyes and I smiled at her antics, shaking my head in amusement. you

We were both waiting for Dr. Goldstein to come back after analysing the results and we didn't have to wait long before I heard her familiar footsteps coming towards our room. She knocked lightly on the door and Mia swiftly left my side and went to open it for her. Dr. Goldstein smiled politely at  her before entering, both women making sure the door was lock behind them.

"Mary, you're back so soon." Dr. Goldstein said with a friendly smile as she went to sit down on the

"I didn't expect it either." I laughed lightly before gesturing for Mia to come at my side before introducing her, "Dr.Goldstein, this my sister, Princess Mia."

"You can just call me Mia." Mia waved it off, shaking her hand before moving back to my side, eager to see what happens today

"It's nice meeting you, Mia. I've heard a lot about you." Dr. Goldstein told her making my face flush as Mia eyes widened, her cheeks reddening

"Hopefully good things." Mia managed to get those words out before chuckling nervously before  I went to hold her hand, trying to calm her down

"Don't worry, nothing bad." Dr. Goldstein reassured her before shifting her attention back to me, "Mary, we got your results back. It looks like the test you took earlier was right, and according to the blood screening, you're almost hitting the 3 month mark."

"Wow. I thought I'd be at least 2 months pregnant. I wonder why I didn't notice it earlier this time around." I quietly said but I knew that the ladies could hear me clearly since we were the only ones here

"Every pregnancy is different, every symptom is different. Plus, with everything happening recently, it makes since you wouldn't really notice due to the stress." Dr. Goldstein explained to me and I nodded my head at her words, repeating them to myself mentally

"I'm positive we could hear the heartbeat today if you want, or do you want to wait for another appoint with Jeremiah?" Dr. Goldstein asked me, her eyes shifting to Mia briefly before meeting mines

"We can do it today." I confirmed my answer and Mia smiled brightly at me, squeezing my hand tightly

Luckily, since I already what to do, the both of us moved silently. I settled myself against the bed and raised the bottom half of my shirt to reveal my stomach, still slightly pudgy due to having Nadia but now it was making a home for my new baby. Dr. Goldstein pressed the gel onto my belly making me shiver at the contact before grabbing the wand to locate the heartbeat.

"Oh, this baby want's to be known. They are right in front, unlike Nadia who hid the first time we checked." Dr. Goldstein reminisced making Mia laugh and the former pressed slightly into my belly

Mia's laughter quieted down as a small thumping noise was heard. I grinned widely as I heard the baby's heartbeat, and yet somehow, it was different compared to when I heard Rupert's or Nadia's. Mia squeezed my hand once more, her eyes wide and a smile blossoming across her lips as she stared at amazement at the screen where she could see the baby.

"This is the best day of my life." Mia told me and I laughed, wishing that Jeremiah was here but it was great Mia was here, that she was back in my life, back at my side

"You're going to be an amazing aunt."

"You're going to be amazing mom."

Both Mia and I spoke up at the same time before we both bursted into laughter. It had been a while since we spoke in sync but it was nice to know we still had it. I squeezed her hand, grateful that she was at my side for this moment.
