Nobody’s POV
As they’re driving they are singing all kinds of songs. “Do a deer, a female deer, Re, a drop of golden sun, Mi a name I call myself, Fa, a long long way to run, so a needle pulling thread, La a note to follow so, Ti a drink with jam and bread, and that will bring us back to Do,” Louri sings making the kids giggle and clap along. Scarlett smiling and recording Louri singing while she drives. Enjoying the moment that her beautiful wife is singing one of her favorite songs from The Sound of Music. Luckily Thomas hasn’t fussed much yet. He must be enjoying the sound of his mama as well. It’s been about 4 hours so they decide to pull over for a break. Pulling into a rest stop and parking. Louri gets out and helps get the kids out. “Stay close by us please,” she says, holding onto Louisa and Devon’s hands, while Maya is with Lisa and Scarlett has Thomas. They head into the rest stop to use the bathroom and do some stretches. Luckily there aren’t many people at the rest stop so they don’t have to worry about being bothered. Once Louri helps Louisa and Devon use the bathroom she walks back over to Scarlett who is laughing with Lisa and Melanie. “What’s so funny?” Louri asks. “Oh just you singing the sound of music,” Lisa says, making Louri’s cheeks go red. “Don’t be embarrassed honey, I love it when you sing, especially to The Sound of Music,” Scarlett says. “Thank you,” Louri says smiling. “Mama has a great voice, just like mommy,” Devon says. “Aww thank you Angel,” Scarlett says.
Karsten walks over to the group, “we are making great time,” he says. “Agreed, we haven’t had any issues with the kids and the car has good gas mileage. I was thinking of filling up here and then we can continue on.” Louri says, making Karsten nod. “But please don’t feel rushed, we can relax for a bit longer and make sure we are well rested before we head back on the road,” Louri says. Just then Thomas starts crying in Scarlett’s arms. “I’ll change him and feed him,” she says. “Do you want help,” Louri asks. “It’s ok baby I got him,” Scarlett says and gets up and goes to a family restroom to change him and feed him. Devon decides to walk around with Lisa. Louisa is sitting on Melanie’s lap while Maya is with Karsten. A few minutes later Scarlett walks out with a sleepy Thomas. “Well that was quick,” Louri says. “They don’t call me a spy for nothing,” Scarlett says, laughing a little. They decided they were rested enough and head back to the cars to load up and head back out on the road. Once situated again, they head to the gas station down the street and fill up and start driving again. “Mommy, can you sing Heads will roll?” Devon asks. “Of course Angel,” she says. She pulls up the song on her phone and hooks it up to the Bluetooth.

Scarlett finishes singing and the kids clap and cheer. “Yay mommy!” Devon cheers. “You did great, babe,” Louri says, making Scarlett blush. “Mommy Ash,” Maya says. “Yes sweetie, Mommy Ash,” Scarlett says smiling at them in the back seat. They continue on driving and at one point the kids have fallen asleep. “Who would’ve thought that singing along to songs would knock them out,” Scarlett says. “All the energy came out with singing,” Louri says, laughing a little. “Also your voice is angelic, making them go right to sleep,” she says, making Scarlett blush more and squeeze Louri’s free hand.
After a couple of hours they finally reach the cabin. “Wow baby, this place is huge,” Scarlett says. “I know, it’s great. It’s got 7 bedrooms and bathrooms, a large backyard with a fire pit and it’s secluded so we don’t have to worry about having people bother us,” Louri says. “This is amazing, thank you for thinking of this,” Scarlett says, leaning over the center console and giving Louri a sweet kiss. “You’re welcome,” Louri says, smiling. “Let’s head inside, Karsten and I will deal with the luggage after,” Louri says, getting out of the car and opening the door for Scarlett and helping get the sleepy kids out of the car. “Wow Louri, you picked a great place” Melanie says as they get out of the car. “Thanks, wait till you see the inside,” Louri says. They all head inside and explore the cabin. They decide which rooms will be occupied by whom and Karsten and Louri head outside to unload the luggage. Once they brought everything inside, Melanie and Lisa decided to work on making dinner, even turning down Louri’s offer to cook, since she drove the whole way and they wanted her to relax. She heads into the living room and sits with Scarlett and Thomas on the couch. “I’ve been given the boot,” Louri says, chuckling. “Well you did drive the whole 7 and a half hours baby,” Scarlett says. “True, I am a little tired,” Louri says. “Rest, I’ll be right here,” Scarlett says, as Louri lays down on the couch with her head in Scarlett’s lap. She slowly closes her eyes and falls asleep.
