Firm in her decision, Eleanora wasted no time in picking up the phone and dialing the number of the police officer who had been a guiding presence through Tommy's journey. As the phone rang, anticipation and determination filled the air.

The officer answered, his voice carrying a mix of professionalism and genuine warmth, "Hello, Eleanora. How can I help you?"

Eleanora took a deep breath before speaking, "I've made a decision. I want to officially adopt Tommy. I want to be his mother in every sense of the word."

There was a brief pause on the other end, followed by the officer's heartfelt congratulations. "Eleanora, that's wonderful news! I'm truly happy for both of you. It's evident that you've built a strong bond with Tommy."

He went on to explain the next steps, "We'll need to schedule a meeting with the child adoption services. They'll guide you through the legal process, ensuring that Tommy's future is secure and filled with love. Can you visit the station tomorrow evening? We'll have the necessary paperwork ready."

Eleanora, her heart swelling with gratitude, agreed to the meeting. As they exchanged details, the officer assured her, "I'll be here to support you through this process, Eleanora. Tomorrow is a step towards creating a beautiful future for Tommy."

With the call concluded, Eleanora felt a sense of fulfillment and anticipation. The decision she had made in the quiet moments of their home was now taking its first steps toward becoming a reality.
Eleanora and Tommy were poised to embark on a new journey—a journey anchored in the unbreakable bond of family.

Later that evening, Eleanora sat with Tommy on the couch, a secret smile playing on her lips.

"Tommy," she said, "Guess what? I called the nice police officer today and told him I want to be your forever mom."

Tommy's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Really, Forever mom?"

Eleanora nodded, "Yes, sweetheart. Tomorrow, we're going to visit the police station to make it official. What should we wear?"

Tommy grinned big, "Silly clothes! You with a tie, and me with a super cool superhero shirt, yay!"

Eleanora chuckled, "Perfect! Tomorrow is a big day for us, and we'll celebrate it together."

In that brief conversation, the room filled with laughter and the promise of a future painted in the hues of shared love and belonging.
