Gabriel pov,

"So how far up is the Ski lodge?" Carley asked. She walked next to me and crossed her arms, her eyes glancing up at the hill where the lodge is. I shrugged.

"A few hundred feet. Not to bad." Carley shifted uncomfortably, I glanced at her and raised an eyebrow. "Your feet ok?"

"Not that." I narrowed my eyes and she looked away awkwardly, "Ok, slightly that. It's just that I'm a little tired, you know? From walking 5 days straight." Carley's face morphed into annoyance and frustration for a moment before she shook her head and rolled her neck, a few pops ringing out. "Sorry, I know it's not your fault. Just tired."

I hummed and smirked, "Well, when we get to where we're going, I can give you a massage if you'd like." I walked up closer to her and grabbed her shoulders, a slight husk in my voice as I spoke in her ear, "there's a few ways to loosen the tension in the body." Carley shivered and leaned into me, smirking herself as she tilted her head up and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed back as her body went limp in my arms.

We broke apart and she sighed, "You always know what to say to calm me down." I chuckled and pulled back, taking half a step back to just hold her hand as she smiled at me. I smiled to.

"It's my best quality my dear."

"Hmm, partial agreement."

"What?" I asked shocked. Carley chuckled, "What do you mean by that?"

She shrugged her shoulders, "Maybe later, Clems coming over." I raised an eyebrow at her but nodded and turned back to Clementine who walked over to us. Her eyes were red and she was sluggishly walking, obviously tired. I smiled down at her.

"Doing ok?" I asked, letting go of Carley's hand. Clementine shrugged.

"A little better. Still tired though." I nodded in understanding.

"I get that. Don't worry, you both can get some rest here soon. Once Mathew takes us up to that Cabin anyway." I said, gesturing to the structure again.

Clementine smiled, "Can't wait." Clementine came over and stood next to Carley, leaning a bit into her with her head resting against her side. Carley smiled and so did I at the sight.

"I'll go check on everyone, you guys stay here if you want." I spoke, motioning to everyone else. Carley nodded and sat on the grass, Clem joining her.

"Thanks, but we're doing just fine here."

I smiled, "Suit yourself." I took a step back and walked away, leaving the girls and my bag behind as I walked over to Luke and Pete.

Matthew was in his little shack with Alvin and Rebecca, who decided to take a little break inside while Mathew gathered his things. He was about to head up to the Cabin when he saw Luke and I, thankfully he didn't shoot us on sight. While he was grabbing his stuff we decided to take another breather. Luke and Pete were speaking when I walked up to them.

"I still think Carver might have followed us, you know he's persistent. Obsessive even." Luke said as he gave Pete a frown. Pete shrugged and scratched the back of his head.

"If he is following us, than he's certainly desperate. We could always head North, I doubt he'd follow us after 100 miles."Luke shook his head. They both heard my footsteps and turned toward me as I walked up. "Hey Gabriel, you wanna throw in your two cents on Carver?"

I shrugged and stood between Luke and Pete, looking out at the Bridge as I came up with an answer. "If I see him again, I'll shoot him. How bout that?"

Luke chuckled, "Good luck, Eve probably wouldn't let you get the chance. She has a draw unlike anyone I've ever seen."

I narrowed my eyes, "like a pistol draw?"
