Living in America Bio: Being born from his Japanese Mother, Matsuda Ayaka and American Father Lucas Barrett in Lexington, Kentucky. Cy had a split childhood, one side raised as a Christian American while from his mother side, being raised to be speak Japanese and Judo. Although he rarely saw his father due to his extreme and dangerous profession, he took his advice to heart. But also because he didn't see his father often, Cy was really efficient at preforming Judo moves since his mother had way more time with him, but alongside learning Judo he gained a passion for music, and even more so on being more reserved with his family and a few close friends of his.

Living in Japan Bio: When he was 10 he had moved to Japan with his family after his father retired where he met the Uesugi family, getting along with them quickly. As the Barrett and Uesugi families grew older, they themselves considered each other family. At the age of 13 in early February when driving home from a movie, the Barrett family was involved in a car crash with a drunken driver, killing Cy's parents as Cy watched them bleed out. When Isanari Uesugi heard the news, he had decided to quickly adopt Cy, and after 4 years with Fuutarou and Raiha, Cy finds himself stuck with Fuutarou, trying to tutor Quintuplets, what is happening at this point? And how did his life come to this?
