THE CABIN had become quiet as Kaiden got up in alert, his mother called out in a loud voice asking who it was.
"Mrs. Jackson? It's Grover."
"Grover?" Percy asked in a hushed voice looking towards the door.
"Grover? The kid you had been writing to us about? Your friend?" Kaiden asked Percy while following his mom to the door.
"What is he doing here? I don't want to see him. Mom, wait."
"I asked for the night, you said we could all leave in the morning." Sally leaned into the door talking to the boy.
"Sorry, I'm early, but I didn't have any choice." Kaiden stood back with an outstretched arm towards Percy who stood behind him with a look of confusion.
"Things have changed, this is all developing a lot faster than we anticipated." Grover spoke entering the cabin.
"Early?" Percy said as he stepped out from behind Kaiden.
"You should have asked me before you- whatever it is you're gonna say, I don't wanna... hear it. Grover?" Percy trails off, he slightly hits Kaiden on the hip, making said boy look at his brother in question until his gaze fell on Grover's legs.
