The Mirror

The old mirror hung in the hallway, its
gilded frame tarnished and peeling. It had
been there for as long as anyone could
remember, and it was said that it was
haunted.

One day, a young woman named Sarah
was walking down the hallway when she
saw her reflection in the mirror. She
stopped to admire her long, dark hair and
her green eyes. As she looked at herself
she noticed that her reflection was
starting to change. Her hair turned black,
her eyes turned red, and her skin became
pale and drawn.

Sarah gasped and turned away from the
mirror. She ran down the hallway, but she
could still hear the mirror's voice calling
to her. Come back, it said. I'm not
finished with you yet.

Sarah ran to her room and locked the
door. She sat on the bed, shaking. She
didn't know what to do. She had heard
the stories about the mirror, but she had
never believed them. Now she knew that
they were true.

The next day, Sarah told her parents
about what had happened. They didn't
believe her at first, but she eventually
convinced them to take the mirror down.
They threw it in the trash, and they never
saw it again.

But Sarah still couldn't forget the mirror.
She knew that it was out there somewhere, waiting for her. She was afraid that it would find her, and that it would finish what it had started.

A few weeks later, Sarah was walking
home from school when she saw a man
standing in front of her house. He was tall
and thin, with long black hair and pale
skin. He was wearing a black coat, and he
had a mirror in his hand.

Sarah stopped and stared at the man. She
knew who he was. He was the mirror's
spirit, and he had come for her.

The man smiled at Sarah. "Hello, he said.
I've been waiting for you"

Sarah backed away. "No," she said. "Go
away"

"Not until I have you," the man said. "You
belong to me now"

Sarah turned and ran. The man chased
after her, but she was faster. She ran
through the streets, and she didn't look
back.

Sarah ran until she couldn't run anymore
She collapsed on the ground, gasping for
breath. She looked up and saw that she
was in a park. She was safe.

Sarah sat on a bench and tried to calm
down. She had escaped the mirror's
spirit, but she knew that he would be
back. She had to find a way to stop him.

Sarah thought about the mirror. She knew
that it was the source of the spirit's power. If she could destroy the mirror, she could destroy the spirit.

Sarah got up and walked to the nearest
store. She bought a hammer and a chisel.
Then she went back to the park and found
the mirror.

Sarah held the hammer in her hand. She
took a deep breath and raised the
hammer above her head. She brought the
hammer down on the mirror, and it
shattered into a thousand pieces.

The spirit screamed in pain. He disappeared, and he was never seen again. Sarah was free. She had defeated the mirror's spirit, and she had saved herself.
