S1: E1 Raise of the snake
"WAIT HERE, AND I'LL come back for you."
Do you know what those words do to a child?
They become a promise, a lifeline, something you cling to with every bit of hope your tiny heart can muster. And when that promise breaks?
Well... let me tell you.
That man—the one I once called my father—, stood at the door of that cold, crumbling hut, he looked me in the eyes and said those words "Wait for me," he said. "I'll return." like they meant something.
And I—being the dumb, hopeful as I was back then—believed him.
Because I was a child.
See the thing is, I didn't know what lies felt like. I didn't know what abandonment looked like. I knew stories. I knew games. I knew laughter, rare as it was. But betrayal? That was a new lesson.
He said he'd come back. He said I just had to wait. And I did. I waited. For days. Then weeks. Then months. And guess what?
