FIRST PERSON

S1: E1 Raise of the snake

"WAIT HERE, AND I'LL come back for you." Those were the words of a man I once called my father. He who had left me in a hut while he went into the world doing God knows what. He told me to wait, he told me he'd come back from me... but he never did. What was once days had turned into months and those months turned into years.

'Is he ever coming back? Will I ever see him again?' Those words constantly surrounded my head as I thought of all our memories we shared, the laughs and the giggles.

Who am I kidding?

He was never present in my life, abandoning me with only a hollow vow. Nevertheless, I blindly placed my trust in his words. I was so innocent at that moment, just as any child would be. I foolishly held onto the hope that he would return one day, but he never came.

How could he? How could he do this to a child that he claimed he loved? How could he abandon his child without anything? What kind of father would do such a thing? What kind of father would exploit his own son for his own benefit? It's inconceivable. My own father, on the other hand, would go as far as sacrificing me to ensure his own survival. He would drain me of my wealth just to lead a luxurious life. He would take advantage of his son to attain more power.
