"You'll never free the King," Sophie scowled, her hands stuck in a rocky handcuff. "We've been trying for days and we always come back with dead soldiers."

"Be quiet, if it'll take days, then it'll take days," Ben said, pushing Sophie into Diana. The triplets were now their prisoners and were leading them to the King's chambers.

"It won't work," Diana warned. "The Empress will come for us."

'There it was again,' Aria thought. 'Just who is this Empress?'

"No ones coming for you," Luca said coldly.

"We have our ways," Mindy cackled.

"You're lying," Julie replied, pushing her further.

"I lie a lot but I assure you, not this instance." Diana rebelled.

They entered an empty room with small lanes - almost like skinny aqueducts - stretched across the floor, forming a spiral into the centre where a coffin sat.

"Told you," Sophie scoffed.

All around the room were statues of black knights, each a different chess piece.

THUD!

"What was that?" Julie asked Mindy, pressing her quarterstaff against her chest.

"I don't know-"

"Tell us or she goes," Luca said, a knife against Sophie's throat.

"I'm telling the truth!" Mindy cried. "Let her go!"

Suddenly they heard the same THUD! again, this time much louder.

The aqueducts began to fill with lava, flowing to the coffin in the centre of the room.

Aria drew her spear at the coffin. "What's in there?" She asked, looking at Diana. "Answer me."

"It's never happened before," Diana replied.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

The coffin door slowly began to open, a smokey red hue shining from the inside.

A man dressed in a red garment fit for a king and a crimson cape stepped out from the coffin. He had long black hair and a stunning face - something that Aria hated to admit. "Ahh," he moaned, stretching his hands. "Hello hello travellers," The man said in a slightly devious tone. He turned to Ben. "Boy, what year is it?"

Ben froze in shock.

"Your majesty," Aria suddenly said, a hint of shame in her voice. "It's an honour to be here - to meet you." Aria stammered, before kneeling. The rest of the royals quickly followed her.

"Oh," The King clapped, "let's skip the formalities and get straight to it, shall we?"

The King clapped his hands softly once again. "Kill."

THUD!

A black knight behind Diana sprung to life, jumping from its pillar and impaling its lance right through Diana's stomach.

Diana groaned loudly, her body thrusted forward. Her white eyes blinked constantly as the knight jerked the lance backward, Diana falling to the ground, her body lifeless.

"NO!" Sophie and Mindy screamed. Their eyes glowed white as they fell to the ground, their hands on their head. They screamed louder and Sophie even began banging the floor. They were feeling death. Diana's death. Aria couldn't help but shudder at the thought of them feeling Diana slip away from this earth. It was the one downside of being telepathically connected. You feel what the others feel. Their pain , their happiness but even so no matter how evil they were, no one deserved to feel death.
